Помимо хорошего звучания, Vinland Safa отличается своей эпической нотой: все песни фокусируются на путешествие L Eriksona (отсюда и название Vinland Saga). На альбоме есть и красивые баллады (Leaves Eyes), и более жёсткие песни с мужским гроулингом (Solemn Sea, The Thorn). Хотя общее звучание и напоминает Lovelorn, всё таки Vinland Saga более мелодичный и мягкий. Песни довольно простые и цепляют с первого раза. Атмосфера очень разнообразна: местами эпическая (New Found Land), торжественная (Vinland Saga), лирическая (Leaves' Eyes, Elegy) или тревожная (Solemn Sea). На песню Elegy снят неплохой видеоклип и та же песня (плюс пара невошедших на альбом песен) выпущена на сингле Elegy. Лучшая песня, на мой взгляд, это Solemn Sea.
