Вышедший уже в следующем году "Beyond the Gates" только закрепил за Possessed статус первопроходцев. Безусловно, когда мы говорим о середине 80-х и зарождении жанра, невозможно отрицать огромного влияния на музыку ранних дэт-метал-коллективов трэш-сцены. Не обошлось без подобного "вливания" и у группы Торрао, где назвать музыкальную составляющую настоящим, стопроцентным "дэтом" язык не поворачивается. И все же Possessed начали писать в подвалах и клубах Сан-Фрнациско азбуку, по которой в свое время будут учиться такие виртуозы, как, к примеру, Napalm Death. А это, согласитесь, дорогого стоит.
