Третий студийник Elf записывался в крайне неподходящей для сосредоточенного написания песен обстановке. Дело в том, что к середине 75 года, Ричи Блэкмор уже покинул родной дом в лице Deep Purple. Недолго думая, он предложил Ронни убрать из группы гитариста и таким образом создать новый коллектив под названием Rainbow. Собственно, так и произошло. Но сначала Elf должны были выпустить еще один диск. Можно себе представить какая "вдохновленная" работа шла в студии при таких обстоятельствах. Тем не менее, надо отдать должное музыкантам - "Trying To Burn The Sun" довольно неплох, хотя и значительно уступает двум предыдущим дискам. Музыка не претерпела никаких изменений, несмотря на то, что в этот раз для записи нескольких треков был приглашен оркестр. Особо приятно слушаются три вещи
