Диск 'Stream Of Sonsciousness (1988) снова оказался возвратом к дикой буйной ярости первого альбома. Диск звучит настолько похабно, что это даже вызывает излишнюю к нему симпатию. После столь бурного шумоизлияния команду покинули вокалист и барабанщик — главные состаляющие уникального звучания Cryptic Slaughter. Но зато показался второй гитарист Eli Nelson. Пока искали достойного барабанщика пауза настолько затянулась, что наступил почти полный развал и в группе остался один лишь Evans.
