Во-первых, время звучания этого альбома ограничивалось 43 минутами (в отличие от предыдущего 70-минутного "Dopethrone"), во-вторых, при записи были использованы такие непривычные для группы инструменты как пианино и скрипка, что придавало работе местами "марсианский" саунд, а в-третьих, на диске присутствовал один номер ("We, the Undead"), имевший скорее панковскую, чем думовую основу. Ввиду всего вышеперечисленного "Let Us Prey" вызвал противоречивые отклики критиков и не очень теплый прием со стороны покупателей. В коллективе начались разногласия, и первым команду покинул Грининг. Спустя несколько месяцев его примеру последовал Багшоу, и Оборну пришлось набирать новых рекрутов.
