Связано ли развитие Forbidden с уходом Бостафа или просто с тем, что в середине девяностых, хочешь-не хочешь, а надо было искать свою фишку, чтобы остаться на плаву, сказать трудно. Скорее всего, и то, и другое. “Distortion“ выполнен в значительно более прогрессивном ключе, чем предыдущий “Twisted Into Form“ (1990), поэтому и слушается куда более интересно.То есть, прогресив коллег вроде Realm “Distortion” напомнит едва ли, но в наличии сумрачная атомосфера и вариации ритмики, как они присущи тем же Tool. Поругать, кроме никакой “Mind’s I”, альтернативно-безликой “Undertaker”, по большому счёту, и нечего. На десерт предлагается кавер на (да-да, всё тот же многострадальный) “21th Century Schizoid Man” от King Crimson. Сыгран, кстати, оригинальней, чем у Voivod. Так что, любители “умного” трэша смело могут слушать “Distortion” – вещица стоящая.
