Финны ARCHGOAT были одними из тех, кому Чёрный Металл был обязан своему становлению в качестве независимого музыкально-идеологического направления в тяжёлой музыке. Выпустив на заре 90-х великолепный релиз "Angelcunt", музыканты очертили рамки своего звучания: грязный некрометалл, брутальный в скоростных фрагментах и мрачный в замедленных, с периодической поддержкой синтезатора и гроулом вместо более привычного для Black Metal скрима был и остаётся визитной карточкой ARCHGOAT... к слову, их не менее легендарные соотечественники BEHERIT и BLACK CRUCIFIXION (равно как другие представители первой Чёрной волны со всего мира - VON, SARCOFAGO, MAYHEM, BLASPHEMY и т.д.) имели иной, но не менее эксклюзивный звук.
