Savatage выпустил последний и лучший альбом, Poets & Madmen, в 2002 году. В 2003 отыграл последние концерты и фактически прекратил своё существование. Точнее, распался на несколько других проектов — хороший Trans-Siberian Orchestra, очень хороший Circle II Circle, и отличный Jon Oliva’s Pain (и так еще, по мелочи, типа Machines of Grace). И только в 2015 году музыканты Savatage собрались вместе — пока только для живых выступлений.
