2014 album from the veteran rocker. KINGS & QUEENS OF THE UNDERGROUND was primarily produced by Trevor Horn, with Greg Kurstin also contributing as a producer to two songs - 'Save Me Now' and the anthemic lead single, 'Can't Break Me Down.' From punk pioneer to global superstar, William Michael Albert Broad - AKA Billy Idol - has left an indelible mark in popular music and remained a household name for over three decades. His style, music, and attitude have transcended time and trends. Billy is the original punk rocker who found a way to take that sneering punk attitude into the pop and rock mainstream, carving out songs that have lasted a lifetime.

Greatest Hits is a compilation of Billy Idol's most popular singles, released by Capitol Records in 2001. The album includes two additional tracks: a live recording of one of his most popular songs, "Rebel Yell" (this live acoustic version was recorded in 1993 and appeared as a B-side for the single "Speed" in 1994), plus a new version of Idol's longtime producer Keith Forsey's "Don't You (Forget About Me)". Although Forsey originally wrote the song with Idol in mind,[citation needed] Idol turned it down and eventually the song was given to Simple Minds who would go on to make it a worldwide hit in 1985. Greatest Hits was certified platinum by the RIAA in 2005.

The album saw Idol reunite with guitarist Steve Stevens and producer Keith Forsey in the studio. All songs were written or co-written by Idol except "Plastic Jesus". The album was engineered and mixed by Brian Reeves at the Jungle Room in Los Angeles.

During the recording of the album, the crew of the TV show Bands Reunited ambushed the Jungle Room and tried to convince Billy to reunite with his old band Generation X for a one-night performance, but Idol slammed the door on them, leading to an apology by the crew.

Cyberpunk is the fifth studio album by the English rock musician Billy Idol, released on 28 June 1993 by Chrysalis Records. A concept album, it was inspired by his personal interest in technology and his first attempts to use computers in the creation of his music. Idol based the album on the cyberdelic subculture of the late 1980s and early 1990s. Heavily experimental in its style, the album was an attempt to take control of the creative process in the production of his albums, while simultaneously introducing Idol's fans and other musicians to the opportunities presented by digital media.

It is primarily a hard rock album, but experiments with other genres, such as jazz on "Endless Sleep" and electro-blues on "Trouble With The Sweet Stuff."

Rebel Yell reunited the hit-making team of Idol, Steve Stevens, and Keith Forsey after their success with Idol's solo debut, Billy Idol (1982). Idol got the idea to name the album "Rebel Yell" after attending a party with the Rolling Stones. He explained on VH1 Storytellers that people were drinking Rebel Yell bourbon whiskey and he thought that would be a great title for an album. The title track was recorded in only three days at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
