Northern Soul is the first album by the British dance band M People. It was originally released in 4 November 1991. After the release of the single "Excited", a new song not originally included on the album, it was re-released with an updated track listing in late 1992, reaching number 53 on the UK albums chart. Following the success of the band's later albums, Elegant Slumming and Bizarre Fruit, this second version was re-issued in October 1995 and charted at number 26.

Bizarre Fruit is the third album by the British house music band M People. It was released on 14 November 1994 and charted and peaked at number 4, spending one year on the chart before an expanded version of the album, Bizarre Fruit II, was released a year later. This album sold 2.8 million copies in the UK and was certified 3x Platinum.

After only three days of sales, it opened atop the Billboard 200 chart with 132,000 copies, making it Bublé's second No. 1 album. Spending the first full week at the top, the album increased in sales to 203,000 copies, staying again at the No. 1 spot on its second week. In Australia, the album debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and spent six non-consecutive weeks as No. 1. It has since been certified five times Platinum. In the United Kingdom, Crazy Love topped the album charts.

The Inner Mounting Flame is the debut studio album by multinational jazz-rock fusion band Mahavishnu Orchestra, released in August 1971 by Columbia Records. After their formation, the group performed several debut gigs before they entered the studio to record their first album featuring all original material written by guitarist John McLaughlin.

Kenneth Earl Burrell (born July 31, 1931) is an American jazz guitarist known for his work on the Blue Note label. His collaborations with Jimmy Smith produced the 1965 Billboard Top Twenty hit album Organ Grinder Swing. He has cited jazz guitarists Charlie Christian and Django Reinhardt as influences, along with blues guitarists T-Bone Walker and Muddy Waters.
Burrell is a professor and Director of Jazz Studies at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music.

Four tracks ("Fields Of Gold", "Autumn Leaves", "People Get Ready" and "Oh Had I a Golden Thread") are from her album, Live at Blues Alley. The remaining track, "Over the Rainbow", is from the album The Other Side. The compilation album was certified Gold by the CRIA (50,000 units) in 2003. It was certified Gold by the RIAA in 2001 and Platinum in 2008 for shipments in excess of one million copies.

Eva by Heart is the first solo studio album (third overall) by American singer Eva Cassidy, released in 1997 (see 1997 in music). It was released after Cassidy's death in 1996.

Naked City: The Complete Studio Recordings is a five disc box set that contains all of the studio albums released by Naked City during their five-year history.
The five discs are accompanied by a book, Eight Million Stories: Naked City Ephemera, which contains a wealth of photos and art as well as testimonials from all five band members and numerous acquaintances, friends, fans and contributors such as Mike Patton, Yamatsuka Eye, Sean Lennon, Mick Harris and Eyvind Kang.

The Clyde Valley Stompers were the quintessence of the 1960’s European traditional jazz movement. They achieved chart success and world acclaim during this period alongside contemporaries Chris Barber, Humphrey Lyttelton, Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball. The Clyde Valley Stompers turned professional in 1956 led by trombonist Ian Menzies after founding member Jim McHarg emigrated to Canada. They subsequently recorded with the iconic ‘Decca’ label and during the next five years took part in a series of tours with influential jazz artistes from wider afield including Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet and Kid Oliver’s Original Creole Band.

John Haley "Zoot" Sims - was an American jazz saxophonist, playing mainly tenor but also alto (and, later, soprano) saxophone. He first gained attention in the "Four Brothers" sax section of Woody Herman's big band, afterward enjoying a long solo career, often in partnership with fellow saxmen Gerry Mulligan and Al Cohn.

Mysterious Traveller is the fourth studio album by the jazz ensemble Weather Report and was released in 1974. This was their final recording with founding bassist Miroslav Vitouš, who left due to creative differences. Vitouš was replaced by Alphonso Johnson. Another addition to the line-up is drummer Ishmael Wilburn. Greg Errico was the drummer for the tour between the previously released Sweetnighter and this album, but declined an invitation to be a permanent member of the band.
The record is the band's first that predominantly uses electric bass and incorporates liberal uses of funk, R&B grooves, and rock that would later be hallmarked as the band's "signature" sound. Also, the more restricted compositional format became evident on this album, replacing the more "open improvisation" formats used on the first three albums. It was voted as the album of the year by the readers of Down Beat for 1974, garnering Weather Report's second overall win in that category, also garnering a five-star review from that publication along the way. The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings included the album in its suggested “core collection” of essential recordings.
