Planet Jarre: 50 Years of Music is a compilation album by French electronic musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre, released on 14 September 2018 to commemorate Jarre's 50 years in the music business.
A total of forty-one tracks were chosen by Jarre himself for inclusion, among them two new songs ("Herbalizer" and "Coachella Opening"). Jarre remastered, and in some cases "retouched", the tracks himself. During the process, he decided that he had pursued four quite different styles of composition and therefore divided the project into four "universes" - "Soundscapes", "Themes", "Sequences" and "Explorations and Early Works”.

Équinoxe (English: Equinox) is the fourth studio album by French electronic musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre, released in December 1978 on the Disques Dreyfus record label, with license to Polydor.
Jarre had developed his sound, employing more dynamic and rhythmic elements, particularly a greater use of sequencing on basslines. Much of this was achieved using custom equipment developed by his collaborator Michel Geiss. The album is presented as two suites of music, each consisting of 4 parts and taking up one side of the vinyl release of the album. The separate tracks on the record smoothly segue into each other to this effect.

Oxygène (English: Oxygen) is the third studio album by French electronic musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre and his first album not intended for use as a soundtrack. Oxygène consists of six tracks, numbered simply "Oxygène Part I" to "Part VI". It was first released in France in December 1976, on the Disques Dreyfus record label licensed to Polydor, with an international release following in the middle of 1977. The album reached number one on the French charts, number two on the UK charts and number 78 in the US charts.

Equinoxe Infinity is the twentieth studio album by French musician and composer Jean-Michel Jarre, released on 16 November 2018 by Columbia Records. It is the sequel to his fourth studio release, Équinoxe (1978), released forty years prior. The artwork was designed by Filip Hodas based on the work of Michel Granger, who also designed the original album.

"Pulse/Quartet" presents two contrasting works from revered US composer Steve Reich in counter-chronological order. Written in 2015 for winds, strings, piano and electric bass, Pulse is a lush, almost pastoral work, reportedly inspired by Daft Punk and played here by trailblazing New York collective, the International Contemporary Ensemble. Quartet, completed two years previously, is more typically Reichian, a three-part work for two pianos and two vibraphones in which the pulse is the main character.

Back in the 90s heyday of Britain’s acid-jazz movement, a hot young saxophonist called Ed Jones shared pole position with new horn heroes Courtney Pine and Andy Sheppard – but Jones preferred the creative sidelines (enhancing rap/soul/jazz outfits such as Us3 and Incognito, among others) and has flourished ever since in settings from free-improv to swing. This is the album debut of his fine, seven-year-old quartet – creatively related to mid-period Coltrane, 70s McCoy Tyner and the pensively penetrating work of his biggest inspiration, Wayne Shorter. He’s tersely telling on soprano sax on the Tyneresque Latin groove Nomadology, granite-firm on the mid-tempo tenor swinger Pandora’s Box, and close to Shorter’s cryptic tenor-sax poetry and wriggly evasions on the smoky, pulsing Marielyst. Starbright – an exquisite vapour-trail for delicate singer Brigitte Beraha – is at times harmonically reminiscent of the Stan Tracey classic Starless and Bible Black. A largely post-boppish set ends with free-improv, a bold turnaround only to be anticipated from a freewheeling band such as this.
