Prolific flamenco guitarist Armik reprises the lush Spanish-styled world of his 2014 release Romantic Spanish Guitar with a second volume. As on the first volume, the Iranian-born American musician matches nimble flamenco guitar flourishes with Latin percussion, accordion, and even fiddle on this 11-song set. Armik's heavily reverbed production and use of synthesizers has always kept his music just a shade away from new age (whose charts he has dominated over the years), but his smooth technique is still that of a very capable guitarist. While Romantic Spanish Guitar, Vol. 2 is no great leap for him, it's a solid release that dovetails neatly with his previous few offerings.

Jettblack is a contemporary hard rock band from High Wycombe, England. They have released three studio albums, Get Your Hands Dirty (2010), Raining Rock (2012), and Disguises (2015).

The seventh edition of Needwant's Future Disco series will be released on February 24th. This latest compilation, titled Til The Lights Come Up, focuses on "the magic and mystery of the early hours." Overseen by Needwant founder Sean Brosnan, the tracklist leans more towards house than disco, with remixes from DJ Koze, Axel Boman and Bristol duo Outboxx featuring alongside original tracks from Terrence Parker and Benoit & Sergio. There are a couple of collaborative tracks, too: Sonny Fodera's "You're The One," which features Cajmere, opens the compilation, while Tale Of Us and Clockwork's "Lost Keys" rounds it out.

Alexander Hawkins is a familiar performer around London, regularly playing at venues like the Vortex and Cafe Oto, in bands with such luminaries as Louis Moholo-Moholo and Evan Parker, but this is the first recording of his regular trio. It is contemporary and exploratory whilst paying respect and gratitude those who came before. There are hints of Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, even a nod to John Taylor, as well as many pianists who are further "out there".

Sure-footed swing, sweet-toned harmony and ever-insouciant charm are embodied in the new jazz vocal trio Duchess, featuring notable New York singers Amy Cervini, Hilary Gardner and Melissa Stylianou. The group’s debut album – Duchess, channels the 1930s inspiration of the virtuosic Boswell Sisters into a wonderfully entertaining and contemporary package. Produced and arranged by Oded Lev-Ari, who helmed previous acclaimed Anzic releases by Cervini and Stylianou, Duchess pairs the vocal trio with an ace New York band: pianist Michael Cabe, bassist Paul Sikivie and drummer Matt Wilson, plus saxophonist Jeff Lederer and guitarist Jessie Lewis.
