Jump Up! ist das 16. Studioalbum des britischen Sängers und Komponisten Elton John.

Das Album wurde mit Chris Thomas in den AIR Studios, Montserrat,[1] sowie Pathé Marconi, Paris eingespielt. Es enthält auch Empty Garden (Hey Hey Johnny), ein Tribut an John Lennon. Dieser war auch von Geffen für Double Fantasy unter Vertrag genommen worden. Auf dem Album singt Elton John tiefer als auf den vorhergehenden, etwa bei Songs wie Blue Eyes, Princess, Ball and Chain und Spiteful Child. Legal Boys wurde von Elton John und Tim Rice geschrieben, der später auch die Texte für The Lion King und The Road to El Dorado schrieb. Letztmals spielte James Newton Howard Keyboards – allerdings spielte er fast 30 Jahre später wieder mit Elton John auf dem Soundtrack zu Gnomeo & Juliet.

The Fox is the fifteenth studio album by British musician Elton John. It was released on 20 May 1981, through Geffen Records in the US (John's first release for the label) and The Rocket Record Company in all other territories. The album was John's first to be produced by Chris Thomas, who would go on to produce many of John's albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, as well as John and Clive Franks. In addition to material written and recorded specifically for the album, multiple tracks originated from the sessions for John's previous album, 21 at 33 (1980).

Fünf Aufnahmen dieses Albums stammten noch aus den Sessions für 21 at 33 und ebenso die B-Seiten der veröffentlichten Single-Auskopplungen. Wie beim vorherigen Album stammten immer noch die wenigsten Texte aus der Feder von Bernie Taupin.

Bevor John im September seine 1980 World Tour startete und für das restliche Jahr vor allem in den USA und Australien auftrat, spielte er zu den bereits vorhandenen Aufnahmen aus dem Vorjahr noch ein weiteres halbes Dutzend Lieder ein.

“Metal Heart” – последний шедевр легендарной группы. Один из тех, которые невозможно разлюбить. Классика! Альбом сильно отличается от предыдущих студийных работ, но это одно из его достоинств. Главное, что, на мой взгляд, отличает его на их фоне – небольшой налет коммерции. Но это как раз тот случай, когда этот налет пошел только на пользу. Музыка стала более продуманой и доступной. Некоторые вещи отличаются намеренной простотой, благодяря чему многие (но, слава Богу, далеко не все!) посчитали их посредственными.
