Pyramid (stylized as Pyr△mid) is the third album by progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released in May 1978. It is a concept album centred on the pyramids of Giza. At the time the album was conceived, interest in pyramid power and Tutankhamun was widespread in the US and the UK. Pyramid was nominated for the 1978 Grammy Award for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.

Alan Parsons is a unique figure in popular music; very few people go from working as a recording engineer and producer to becoming an artist in their own right. After working behind the scenes with the Beatles and Pink Floyd, Parsons formed his own Project (not, he explains, a group). Between 1976 and 1987, the Alan Parsons Project released ten albums of original music. Along the way, Parsons was nominated 13 times for a Grammy; he won his first with 2019’s Eye in the Sky (35th Anniversary Edition).

Goat is a Swedish alternative and experimental fusion music group. The band originates-according to its own publicity—from Korpilombolo, Norrbotten County, .[1] The seven-piece band performs wearing masks and costumes, with each of the band members remaining anonymous.

To date, the band has released six studio albums: World Music (2012), Commune (2014), Requiem (2016), Oh Death (2022), Medicine (2023) and Goat (2024). In 2023, the band provided the score to the acclaimed BBC/A24 drama series, The Gallows Pole, directed by Shane Meadows.

Pitfalls is the sixth studio album by Norwegian progressive metal band Leprous, released on 25 October 2019 via Inside Out Music and preceded by the singles "Below", "Alleviate", and "Distant Bells". It was recorded over six months at Ghostward Studios. A cellist, violinist, and classical choir were recruited for the production. Most of the songs were written and composed by Leprous vocalist Einar Solberg.

A majority of critics approved of the album, bestowing particular esteem on the singing as well as the songs "Below", "Observe the Train", "At the Bottom", and "The Sky Is Red". Solberg's creative control was for some a point of contention. Pitfalls charted higher than its predecessor Malina in the Wallonia region of Belgium, Finland, France, the UK (rock and metal releases), and Top Heatseekers in the US.

Someone once told me that Pink Floyd had a knack for reissuing and reselling the same albums time and again. I think that’s undeniable, especially when it comes to their discography from the ‘70s and ‘80s. But if there’s one of their works that hasn’t gotten the recognition it deserves, always lingering in the background of Floyd’s catalog, it’s “Live at Pompeii.” Until now.

The original release of “Live at Pompeii” came in the form of a concert film, directed by Adrian Maben. The English rock band is seen performing in the ancient Roman amphitheater of Pompeii, Italy. They play a typical live set from the era, but there’s no audience beyond the basic film crew. Additional scenes, shot in a Paris television studio, were included for the original 1972 release.

Though the group had embarked upon a five-year journey to find its way in the wake of losing founding singer, songwriter and guitarist Syd Barrett, that journey eventually led to The Dark Side of the Moon. That 1973 breakthrough album catapulted the band – until then a largely underground sensation – into the big time. But the creative streak that brought forth in Dark Side would be sustained: even as they were touring in support of their ‘73 blockbuster, the members of Pink Floyd – guitarist David Gilmour, bassist Roger Waters, keyboardist Richard Wright and drummer Nick Mason – were already hard at work developing new material.

By the time they entered the studio to make 1975’s Wish You Were Here, two-thirds of Pink Floyd’s next album (1977’s Animals) was already in the band’s live set. Meanwhile, Wish You Were Here represented a continuation of the band’s best work. In observance of the 50th anniversary of that record’s release, a massive and lavish box set expands and builds upon the original by including copious relevant bonus material. In July 1978, Waters presented the concepts and played demos of The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking as well as what was then titled Bricks in the Wall, which became The Wall, to his bandmates in Pink Floyd, asking them to decide which should be a group album, and which should be his solo album. After a long debate, they decided that they preferred the concept of Bricks in the Wall, even though their manager at the time, Steve O'Rourke, thought that Pros and Cons was a better-sounding concept, and David Gilmour deemed Pros and Cons stronger musically.
