Starr Struck: Best of Ringo Starr, Vol. 2 is Ringo Starr's second official compilation album, released on Rhino.

The Guess Who are a Canadian rock band from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Initially gaining recognition in Canada, the group also found international success from the late 1960s through the mid-1970s with numerous hit singles, including "No Time", "American Woman", "These Eyes" and "Share the Land". Vulgar Display of Power is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Pantera, released on February 25, 1992 through Atco Records. One of the most influential metal albums of the 1990s, Vulgar Display of Power has been described as "one of the defining albums of the groove-metal genre". Several songs from this release have become some of the band's best known, such as "Mouth for War", "This Love", and "Walk".

This was the final Alan Parsons Project studio album. During the writing of what would have been the followup, Eric Woolfson turned the album into the rock opera eventually released as Freudiana in 1990. Alan Parsons continued as a solo artist in 1993 with Try Anything Once, an album which completes the musical evolution that started with this album.

Motor Sister is the new band with Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian. This is a great rock n roll album. The rest of the band consists of Joey Vera on bass from Armored Saint and Fates Warning, John Tempesta on drums from White Zombie, lead singer/guitar Jim Wilson from Mother Superior, as well as Ian’s wife and daughter of the one and only Meatloaf Pearl Aday. Ian has always been one of the best riff masters around. Combined with Wilson’s guitar playing and great blues filled voice they put out a really good hard rocking album.

Pantera reached a major milestone in 1994 when the legendary metal band s seventh studio album, Far Beyond Driven, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200, becoming the fastest-selling album of the group s career and its second consecutive platinum release. Not only a commercial success, the album also earned positive reviews around the world for the beautiful brutality of its all-out sonic assault.
2014 marks the 20th anniversary of that landmark album and Rhino celebrates with a special two-disc version that includes a remastered version of the album, along with a live performance from the 1994 Monsters of Rock Festival.

“Venom” has a bit of a theme to it, they are taking you on a journey through all the ages of Metal. Having said that, it’s not forced and the songs stands on their own. I appreciated that they did add a few different elements to the music, songs like “Rise” and “Domino Theory” in particular seem to be a bit more forward thinking and unique. Don’t get me wrong, they don’t stray that far from the formula that everyone loves, but they’re not just filling the album with a bunch of soundalike tracks. I think that’s a big misconception about the Power Metal genre, there is room for some experimenting and “Venom” does explore some of those boundaries.
