The band Vexillum saw the light in 2004 in Pisa (Italy) from an idea of the guitar player Michele Gasparri. After some months, the singer Dario Vallesi joined in, replacing Michele at the Vocals and letting him focusing only on the six-chord shredding. “Unum” is a concept album, where Dario, as principal character, is accompanied through his quest by other singers that are Hansi Kursch (Blind Guardian) as “The Sentenced”, Chris Bay (Freedom Call) playing “The Jester”, Maxi Nil (Jaded Star, ex Visions of Atlantis) returning as the Lady Thief, after being the Flame on The Bivouac’s “The Oak and Lady Flame” and Mark Boals (Malmsteen, Iron Mask, Ring of Fire) acting like “The Hermit”.

Steamhammer are set to start into the new year 2015 with a new promising US Metal band: Hailing from the city of Ventura an hour north of Los Angeles, Night Demon is a classic metal trio consisting of Jarvis Leatherby (bass, vocals), Brent Woodward (guitars) and Dustin Kithcart (drums) . The band has completed work on their debut full-length album Curse Of The Damned, featuring eleven brand new original tracks, and is slated for an early 2015 release on January 14 (Scandinavia), January 16 (Germany) and January 19 (rest of Europe) as CD, LP and download.

James Taylor at Christmas is a Christmas album by singer/songwriter James Taylor, released by Columbia Records in 2006. It was his last release for Columbia since signing with them back in 1977.
The album is essentially a reissue (with a new title and slightly altered track listing) of James Taylor: A Christmas Album, a limited edition title distributed by Hallmark Cards in 2004. "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas", originally issued on Taylor's October Road in 2002, and "River" were not included on the original Hallmark release. Additionally, the original album featured a version of "Deck the Halls" which is not on the standard Columbia CD. (The Barnes & Noble chain has, however, issued a version of the new title with "Deck the Halls" included as a bonus track).

Iconic arena-rockers Night Ranger are set to release their new studio album "High Road" on June 10th in North America via label home Frontiers Records. Produced by the band itself, "High Road" will be available in two formats – a standard CD version and a deluxe version which includes two bonus tracks and a DVD featuring a background look at the making of the album along with video clips. Of the new album, frontman/bassist/songwriter Jack Blades commented, “It’s almost summer and a great time to take a trip down the HIGH ROAD! Our new record features classic Night Ranger feel-good, high-energy kick-ass rock n’ roll. We can’t wait for our fans to hear.” Drummer/singer Kelly Keagy added, “We’re so proud of this new record and excited to get back on the road to bring the new music to our fans.”

Although some highlights from Alice Cooper‘s performance at last year’s Wacken Open Air festival were featured in the “Live at Wacken 2013″ DVD released earlier this year, UDR Records are beginning to release artists whole sets in special CD/DVD packages and Alice Cooper is the first in what will hopefully be a long line of releases to come.
Of course, Alice needs no bigging up at this point in his career, having seen and done everything there is to do in a career in rock music that spans nearly half a century, and that is kind of the point of this set as the idea of the Raise the Dead Tour was to pay homage to The Hollywood Vampires, a group of rock stars – including Cooper, John Lennon, Keith Moon, Micky Dolenz and Ringo Starr – who used to get together and try to out drink each other, and some of the other fellow hellraisers who fell by the wayside along the way, like Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison.

Stiletto is one of Lita Ford's better CDs, and one in a trilogy of good albums that she recorded during the 1980s (the others being Lita and Dangerous Curves). Lita has always considered herself primarily a guitarist, and she doesn't disappoint. Her heavy guitar lines reveal some impressive talent. The songwriting is a bit intermittent. Standout tracks include The Ripper, Aces and Eights, and the heartfelt memorial to her late mother, Lisa. There are a couple of poorly conceived songs - Wake Up Call and Dedication sound completely out of place - but on the whole this CD is pleasant and listenable. The remastering on the new BGO edition is nice, resulting in clean, crisp sound.

Crimes of Passion is the second studio album by American rock singer Pat Benatar, released on August 5, 1980 by Chrysalis Records. The album is the first to feature Myron Grombacher on drums, beginning a long tenure in Benatar's band that would last into the late-1990s.
