Money for Nothing is a greatest hits album by British rock band Dire Straits released in 1988. It features highlights from the band's first five albums. The vinyl edition omits "Telegraph Road" and has a different running order, with "Tunnel of Love" placed between "Money for Nothing", the title track, and "Brothers in Arms". The collection went to #1 on the UK Albums Chart. It sold 6.6 million copies in Europe and one million in the U.S.

Live at the BBC is a live album by British rock band Dire Straits, released on 26 June 1995 on Vertigo Records internationally, and by Warner Bros. Records in the United States. The album was recorded on 22 July 1978 at BBC Studios in London, with one track recorded on 31 January 1981. The studio versions of the first six songs were released on Dire Straits. Live at the BBC was the band's third live album, preceded by Alchemy: Dire Straits Live (1984) and On the Night (1993).

В середине шестидесятых в Афинах начал процветать туристический бизнес, что в свою очередь, дало поддержку многочисленным группам из этого города, которые в большинстве своем исполняли кавер-версии известных западных хитов, в особенности из Англии и Соединенных Штатов. Демис играл во многих этих группах, как в качестве трубача (американский трубач Гарри Джеймс оказал на него большое влияние), так и басиста. Но только лишь в группе “We Five” Демису удалось продемонстрировать публике свои певческие способности. Вокалист группы решил сделать для себя перерыв в выступлениях и это позволило Демису петь кавер-версию хита “Animals” “House of the Rising Sun”. Демис исполнял эту песню вечер за вечером, после он также пел “When A Man Loves A Woman” и “Black is Black”, на концертах группы.
