Судя по всему, сердце к грувовым трэшевым риффам лежало у парней всегда, но вот таким мягким Overkill не был, кажется, ни до, ни после «I Hear Black». Вот где корни вдохновения банды, так это, наверняка, в тягучем, ядовитом риффинге а-ля Black Sabbath. Это чувствуется временами отчётливо. На все нападки да будет отвечено — альбом, как он есть, не с неба упал, основные его элементы были заложены ещё знаменитым «Horrorscope». Если б, допустим, банда стала развиваться в этом ключе дальше, то пришла бы к чему-то вроде металликовского «Load» - вещи достаточно интересной, но к трэшу не относящейся.
