Suidakra была создана в 1994 году гитаристом Arkadius Antonik и барабанщиком Stefan Möller под названием Gloryfication. Группа записала два демо меняющимися составами, пока не были определёны остальные участники: клавишник Daniela Voigt, гитарист Marcel Schoenen и басист Christoph Zacharowski. Позже в том же году группа сменила название на Suidakra.В 1997 году группа выпустила свой первый альбом, "Lupine Essence", который привлёк внимание немецкой звукозаписывающей компании Last Episode. В 1998 году подписав с ними контракт, группа приступила к записи второго альбома "Auld Lang Syne". Вскоре после выпуска альбома басиста Christoph Zacharowski заменил Nils Bross.
