Второй альбом Suffocation стал логичным развитием идей первого. Ничего особо нового американские гении не придумывали, так как потенциала группы хватало и хватает до сих пор ещё на целую кучу альбомов. Самыми заметными отличиями от "Effigy of the forgotten" являются более развитый бас и большее количество медленных отрезков. Музыка осталась такой же комплексной и сложной. Трэшевых ритмов, по ощущениям, стало чуть больше. Постижение "Breeding the spawn" доставляет такое же ни с чем не сравнимое удовольствие, как и расслушивание других работ группы.
