На следующий год группа распалась, и возрождение «Death SS» состоялось только в 1987-м. Первые альбомы коллектива выходили на различных маленьких лейблах, которые менялись из года в год. Ситуация объяснялась «бесовским» имиджем банды. Ведь ее концерты представляли собой настоящее шок-шоу с голыми девками, тоннами крови и всякими «прелестями», позаимствованными из фильмов ужасов. Наконец в 1996-м Стив и компания организовали собственный лейбл «Lucifer rising records», открыв его работу выпуском компиляции «Horror music – The best of Death SS». Этот двойник запечатлел исторические «эсэсовские» вехи и содержал много ранее неизданного материала.
