Второе творение калифорнийских монстров дэт-метала показало, что эта команда вовсе не собирается сдавать позиции, занятые на андерграундной дэт-сцене после сметающего все на своем пути своей тяжестью и хаотичностью дебютника. Заполучив нового басиста Бена Марлина и постоянного гитариста Диего Санчеза, Disgorge записывают"She Lay Gutted", показавший слушателю другую, чуть более доступную версию своей музыки. Вокал стал чуть более разборчивым и куда менее мерзким (более того, посреди сурового гроула/ гуттурала Мэтти Вэя можно услышать даже скриминг), тем не менее, оставаясь очень экстремальным по меркам дэт-метала, а чрезмерная хаотичность уступила место ласкающей слух четкости и определенности музыкальных изобразительных средств - каждый слэмовый момент, каждая сбивка, каждый бластбит и каждое гитарное взвизгивание или тремоло-рифф на своем месте, все компоненты музыки подаются умеренно, убедительно и предельно четко.
