Тем не менее, «The World That Summer» (или «The Wörld Thät Sümmer») – это не концептуальный альбом в прямом смысле этого слова, даже учитывая то, что все треки на нем связаны друг с другом общей темой. В музыкальном плане на альбоме можно найти как простые, мелодичные, почти попсовые фолк-песни, такие как «Torture By Roses» (название песни относится к английскому изданию Barakei, книге, выпущенной в 1963 году с фотографиями Мисимы за авторством Eikon Hosoe, в которой японский фотограф преподнес себя в самых разных позах: начиная от воинственных и заканчивая эротическими), «Come Before Christ And Murder Love» и «Break The Black Ice» (легкость восприятия которых соседствует с аурой глубокой меланхолии и отчаяния), так и местами агрессивные, разбавленные электронным звучанием треки («Rule Again», «Blood Victory», «Hidden Among The Leaves»). Упомянутое последним название трека является переводом японского слова Hagakure, заголовка эссе Tsunetomo Yamamoto начала 18 века, в котором обобщаются этические ценности и нормы самураев и который представлял определенную ценность для Юкио Мисимы.
