На первом сольном альбоме Хакетт никак не мог обойтись без музыкантов Genesis, посему в записи участвовал Коллинз, а также Разерфорд. Помимо них в приглашённых числились брат Стива Джон, сестра Майка Олдфилда Салли, и другие. Вообще, "Voyage of the Acolyte" записывали 11 человек. Целый оркестр! Замечательную картинку к обложке рисовала жена гитариста, бразильская художница Ким Пур. Сам альбом под стать каверу - музыка, сочинённая Хакеттом, создаёт ирреальную, сказочную атмосферу. Тот факт, что в основу концепции альбома положены карты Таро, наполняет её магической таинственностью.
