Mortuary Drape приступает к работе и записывает своё первые демо под оккультным названием "Necromancy" в 1987 году. Альбом обрел достаточно большую популярность и с течением времени стал культом для этого жанра. В 1988 группа работает над очередной своей записью "Doom Return". Тогда, спустя некоторое время на Mortuary Drape обращает внимание греческий лейбл Decapitated rec. Группа подписывает контракт и выпускает свой первый полноформатный альбом "Into The Drape".
