Первым на свет появился EP "Rise of The Mutants", а за ним последовал полноформатный альбом "If We Had Brains… We'd Be Dangerous" (продюсер Боб Маулд). Оба релиза подверглись яростным нападкам со стороны организации PMRC, что было Impaler только на руку, и музыканты получили бесплатную рекламу.Последовало национальное турне, а тем временем композиция "Blood Bath" появилась в виде клипа. Эта же песня попала на "комбатовский" сборник "Bullets" вместе с вещами от Exodus и Megadeth. К сожалению на этом отношения Impaler с Combat Records закончились, и группа осталась без крыши.
