Ataraxie была основана в конце 2000 года певцом и басистом Джонатаном Тери после распада блэк-метал- группы Reign of Evil. ... Résignés. В 2014 году гитарист Estève покинул Ataraxie и был заменен Хьюго Гаспаром из Fatum Elisum . В новом составе группа продолжила выступать на международном уровне и в 2019 году выпустила альбом Résignés, который часто получал высокую оценку, но также оценивался как посредственный.
