Норвежцев Communic постоянно сравнивают с Nevermore и это вполне резонно: налицо сходство тембра и манеры пения Оддлейфа Стенсланда с уже покойным Уоррелом Дэйном, у обеих групп похожий плотный, басистый, но мутноватый гитарный звук. Но и отличий тоже хватает: степень эмоционального накала в голосе Оддлейфа не столь велика, а техника его игры на гитаре весьма далека от мастерства Джеффа Лумиса, да и любовь Communic к сложному построению композиций, благодаря которому к ним приклеился ярлык prog metal, не был в такой степени присущ вышеупомянутой группе-прообразу.
