Весьма удачная попытка смешать «в одном флаконе» мрачную атмосферу и мелодику, характерные для готик-метал, и вокал и гитарные риффы, достаточно типичные для представителей “neue Deutsche Haerte”, например, Rammstein или Megaherz. Альбом достаточно сильно отличается от предыдущих работ этого немецкого коллектива, по крайней мере, он не настолько суицидален и депрессивен, как ранние песни Bethlehem, которые толкали людей на сооружение в квартирах алтарей и прочие нешаблонные поступки. Хотя всегда присущая Bethlehem «шизоидность» осталась и здесь, особенно хорошо она чувствуется на финальной композиции “Maschinensatan”, да и остальные треки при всем желании никак не назовешь «здоровой» музыкой. Зато диск напрочь лишен занудности и однообразия – группа вовсю экспериментирует с самыми разными стилями, ударяясь то в блэк, то в акустику, то почти в индастриал.

Итак, альбом называется «Mental Conflicts», что можно перевести, как «Конфликты разума». Он содержит 20 сногсшибательных своей мощью боевиков и длится примерно 40 минут. Что сразу бросается в глаза и в уши, так это необычная подача музыкального материала. Стиль у группы довольно интересный, он совершенно не режет по ушам своими дикими бластбитами и резкими соло. Он оригинален своей строгостью и четкостью. Да, именно так, тут очень мало той панкухи, которую включали в свою музыку другие грайндовые команды из-за того, что не знали чем иногда заменить смертоносный напор. Один из самых низких вокалов навевает мрак и ужас.

«From my rotting body flowers shall grow and i am in them and that is eternally» - процитировали в буклете норвежцы фразу своего соотечественника художника Эдварда Мунка. И эта фраза в полной мере отражает дух этого замечательного альбома. А ожидает нас здесь брутальный техничный дэт-метал самой высшей пробы. Другими словами, на этом альбоме мы слышим, что получилось, если совместить техничность DEATH и брутальность тех же DEICIDE. И получилось великолепно! Шаг вперед по сравнению c «Affiliated with the Suffering» очевиден. Каждая песня имеет свое лицо, материал в целом разнообразен (частая смена среднетемповых проходов на скоростное рубилово) и изобилует интересными ходами, местами проскакивают даже мелодии, но это скорее исключение, чем правило. Оригинальный материал, плюс отличное качество записи - и мы имеем на выходе один из лучших дэт-метал-альбомов XXI века! Спасибо Черту и Доду за классный материал (вообще, проекты, где участвует Черт, по-своему интересны и заслуживают внимания).

Также дебют BENEDICTION интересен очень своеобразной стилистикой. С одной стороны, это классический death-metal, но с другой – альбом записан, в общем, в нехарактерном для стиля скоростном панковском тэмпе (то есть быстро, но не так, как трэш-спид металл), но с классическими дэтовыми риффами и с низким звучанием гитар. При этом скоростные вещи обильно разбавлены медленными тягучими риффами, звучащими очень тяжело и низко. Вообще, альбом заметно выделяется на общем фоне своей узнаваемой и уникальной стилистикой и звучанием.

"Legion Of Perkele" стал первым альбомом для будущего финского гиганта музыкальной индустрии Spinefarm Records.Заключение этой сделки не замедлило сказаться на итоговом результате – и в первую очередь выиграло качество звука. Что никак не сказалось на тяжести альбома – "Legion Of Perkele" по праву может быть назван самым тяжелым диском в их дискографии: зубодробильные black-death риффы соседствуют с истеричными женскими воплями, полностью оправдывая свое название. В этом диске нет компромиссов – только черная, как полярная ночь, ярость настоящего black metal! Издание содержит два hidden трека – это перезаписанная песня с первого альбома "Hellstorm" "Deep From The Depths" и также подвергшийся процедуре перезаписи трек "Warmetal".

На мой взгляд, это лучший альбом группы, более зрелый, чем ранние работы и не такой коммерческий, как поздние. Каждая вещь на нем – вершина композиторского мастерства, а прекрасные мелодии из тех, что запоминаются на всю жизнь, западают в душу и заставляют по-настоящему наслаждаться музыкой. Вокал Тарьи бесподобен, как и всегда, а замысловатые гитарные партии постоянно приковывают внимание к музыке. Впрочем, профессионализм остальных участников группы тоже не подлежит сомнению. Великолепно звучат клавишные, создавая возвышенную оперную атмосферу, живо напоминая концерты в консерватории. Отличное сведение материала не может не радовать слух, как, впрочем, и качество записи. Оригинальное сочетание скоростных и медленных моментов наполнено гармонией и по-настоящему талантливо.

The Gipsy Kings had major crossover success with their splendid and innovative third album, which used drums, bass, percussion, and synthesizer to beef up the sound. This French import is their first album from 1983, and it is a much more traditional affair, with only acoustic guitars, voices, and hand claps. It shows that artistically the sound did not need to be beefed up; the music is still wonderful. How can an array of seven guitars and full-throated passion not be wonderful? Commercially, the additions to their sound helped break The Gipsy Kings through to a larger audience, but now that their name is known, it should be possible for more people to go back and appreciate this album. It is in no way crude or unpolished, and the artistry and playing are of an equally high quality.

Plagiarism was not successful across Europe like its predecessor Gratuitous Sax & Senseless Violins had been, and did not chart significantly in any territory. The two singles performed well enough to register in the lower regions of the UK Singles Chart. The first single from the album was "The Number One Song In Heaven", the single version did not include the vocals of Jimmy Somerville, it reached #70 in October 1997.

Invaders Must Die is the fifth studio album by English electronic dance music group The Prodigy. The album was released on 23 February 2009 on the band's new record label Take Me to the Hospital, and was distributed by Cooking Vinyl. Although Liam Howlett, Maxim and Keith Flint all contributed material for The Fat of the Land, Invaders Must Die is the first Prodigy record where, given the departure of Leeroy Thornhill, all band members took part in the creative process. It is their first and currently only album to not contain any explicit songs.

Exit Planet Dust is the debut studio album by English electronic music duo the Chemical Brothers. It was first released on 26 June 1995 in the United Kingdom by Junior Boy's Own, Freestyle Dust, and Virgin Records, and on 15 August 1995 in the United States by Astralwerks. The album was recorded between August and November 1994, with "Song to the Siren" performed live. Its title is a reference to their departure from their earlier name the Dust Brothers.

On release, the album was received favourably and in 1989 was ranked No. 90 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "100 Best Albums of the Eighties". "We'll Be Together", "Be Still My Beating Heart", "Englishman in New York", "Fragile", and "They Dance Alone" were all released as singles.
It won Best British Album at the 1988 Brit Awards. In 1989 the album received three Grammy nominations including Album of the Year while the album's second single ("Be Still My Beating Heart") was nominated for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

Venus Doom is the sixth studio album by Finnish gothic rock band HIM. The album was recorded at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki with producers Hiili Hiilesmaa and Tim Palmer, both whom had collaborated with the band on various occasions, and released on 14 September 2007. During the making of Venus Doom, HIM was struggling with the personal problems of their vocalist Ville Valo. Among other things, his alcohol abuse had worsened to the point that he suffered a nervous breakdown during the recording process, after which he was admitted to the Promises Rehabilitation Clinic in Malibu by HIM's manager Seppo Vesterinen. Musically the album has been described as HIM's heaviest and darkest album to date, with influences from bands such as My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost. Much of the album's lyrical themes and heaviness were inspired by Valo's personal difficulties, including his break-up with fiancé Jonna Nygrén.

You've Come a Long Way, Baby is the second studio album by English electronic music producer Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook). It was first released on 19 October 1998 in the United Kingdom by Skint Records and a day later in the United States by Astralwerks. You've Come a Long Way, Baby proved to be Cook's global breakthrough album, peaking at number one on the UK Albums Chart and number 34 on the US Billboard 200.

The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, staying atop for eight consecutive weeks. A significant commercial success compared to the release of The Slim Shady LP just the previous year, the album sold 1.78 million copies in its first week, which made it among the fastest-selling studio albums in the United States. The album produced the singles "The Real Slim Shady", "The Way I Am", and "Stan". Among other publications, Rolling Stone named it the best album of the year 2000.
