Vulture Culture ist ein Studioalbum der britischen Band The Alan Parsons Project. Die erste Seite der ursprünglichen Vinyl-LP (die ersten vier CD-Titel) besteht ausschließlich aus vier Minuten langen Popsongs, während die zweite Seite ein breites klangliches Spektrum vom dezent-funkigen Titeltrack bis hin zum lebhaft-trockenen Hawkeye aufweist. Days Are Numbers (The Traveller) wird als eines der besten Lieder des Projekts bezeichnet. Anfang 1985 erreichte die Single Let’s Talk About Me die Top 40 in den Niederlanden und Deutschland, wo das dazugehörige Album auf Platz 1 kam. Das Lied enthält gesprochene Passagen von Lee Abrams, der auf dem Cover mit dem Anagramm Mr. Laserbeam Erwähnung findet.

The Turn of a Friendly Card ist ein Progressive-Rock-Album der britischen Band The Alan Parsons Project und wurde 1980 veröffentlicht. Das Konzeptalbum behandelt das Thema Glücksspiel und gibt in groben Zügen die Geschichte eines Mannes mittleren Alters wieder, der, ruhelos geworden, den Entschluss fasst, ins Casino zu gehen und dort all sein Geld aufs Spiel setzt, nur um schließlich alles zu verlieren. Seite 2 der ursprünglichen Vinyl-LP bestand aus dem Instrumentaltitel The Gold Bug und einem zusammenhängenden Musikstück, welches in älteren CD-Versionen mit Indexpunkten versehen und in den Neueren in fünf Einzeltitel aufgeteilt ist. The Turn of a Friendly Card ist außerdem durch die Auskopplung der moderaten Hits Games People Play und Time bekannt, wobei bei letzterem Eric Woolfson an den Leadvocals debütierte.

Stereotomy ist das neunte Studioalbum von The Alan Parsons Project, das im November 1985 veröffentlicht wurde und in Deutschland ab Dezember 1985 erhältlich war.

Obwohl es musikalisch oft besser als sein Vorgänger Vulture Culture bewertet wurde, war es kommerziell nicht so erfolgreich. Ein Grund könnte der geringere Gesangsanteil von Eric Woolfson sein (er singt lediglich einen kurzen Abschnitt auf dem Titeltrack des Albums). Das Album ist anders als frühere Alben von Alan Parsons Projects strukturiert: Es enthält drei lange Stücke und zwei einminütige Songs am Ende. Es ist eine vollständig digitale Produktion und sowohl die LP- als auch die CD-Veröffentlichungen wurden mit dem Zwei-Kanal-Ambisonic UHJ Format kodiert.

Die LP wurde zu einer Zeit konzipiert, in der das allgemeine Interesse an Pyramiden und der Pyramidenenergie sehr hoch war; es gab Zeitungsberichte über angebliche magische Eigenschaften. Das Album enthält viele Reverenzen an altertümliche Wunder, so auch an die Pyramiden Ägyptens. Dies wird am deutlichsten bei den Titeln What Goes Up … und Pyramania. Auch Anspielungen an die Prä-Astronautik sind mehrfach vorhanden.

I Robot ist das zweite Studioalbum des britischen Musikprojekts The Alan Parsons Project, das im Juni 1977 erschien.

Das Cover ist eine Collage der britischen Grafikdesign-Agentur Hipgnosis auf einem Foto der Rolltreppen im Pariser Flughafen Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, überlagert von einer Zeichnung eines Roboters mit stilisiertem Atom als Gehirn. Die Idee, diesen Ort für das futuristische Cover zu verwenden, kam von Eric Woolfson, den der Flughafen nach eigenen Angaben schon immer an „die roboterhaften Aktivitäten der Menschheit“ erinnert habe. Bei den Personen auf den Rolltreppen handelt es sich um Assistenten des Hipgnosis-Leiters Storm Thorgerson. Für die letztendlich erschienene Fotomontage wurden mehrere Aufnahmen zusammenkopiert.

Gaudi ist ein Album der britischen Band The Alan Parsons Project. Es war das letzte Studioalbum der Band und wurde 1987 veröffentlicht. Der Albumtitel bezieht sich auf den Architekten Antoni Gaudí, der erste Song auf dessen bekanntestes Bauwerk, die Kirche Sagrada Família.

Die Stücke Closer to Heaven und Money Talks wurden in einer Episode der TV-Serie Miami Vice verwendet, Paseo de Gracia in einer anderen. Das Thema wurde 1992 durch Eric Woolfson zum gleichnamigen Musical weiterentwickelt.

Es befasst sich thematisch primär mit der Annahme, unter ständiger Beobachtung zu stehen. Darüber hinaus beschäftigt sich das Konzept des Albums mit Glaubensanschauungen, unabhängig davon, ob diese religiös, politisch oder persönlich (z. B. beim Glücksspiel) motiviert sind. Der persönliche Aspekt verweist dabei auf das Vorgängeralbum „The Turn of a Friendly Card“ (1980), während in musikalischer Hinsicht dessen Vorgänger „Pyramid“ (1978) zitiert wird.

Ammonia Avenue ist eines der kommerziell erfolgreichsten Alben der britischen Band The Alan Parsons Project und wurde am 9. Dezember 1983 veröffentlicht. Ammonia Avenue war ursprünglich in Form eines Doppelalbums geplant, wobei das Material zu Vulture Culture die zweite LP darstellen sollte.

Die erste Single-Auskoppelung war Don’t Answer Me. Prime Time, die zweite Auskopplung, kam in den USA in die Top 40. Since the Last Goodbye und You Don’t Believe waren ebenfalls kleinere Hits. Für Don’t Answer Me und Prime Time wurden 1984 Musikvideos produziert, ersteres mit Animationen von Michael William Kaluta. Don’t Answer Me war zudem das erste Musikvideo, das durchgehend animiert war.

Alan Parsons is a unique figure in popular music; very few people go from working as a recording engineer and producer to becoming an artist in their own right. After working behind the scenes with the Beatles and Pink Floyd, Parsons formed his own Project (not, he explains, a group). Between 1976 and 1987, the Alan Parsons Project released ten albums of original music. Along the way, Parsons was nominated 13 times for a Grammy; he won his first with 2019’s Eye in the Sky (35th Anniversary Edition).

Eve is the fourth studio album by British rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released on 27 August 1979 by Arista Records. The album's focus is on the strengths and characteristics of women, and the problems they face in the world of men.[6] It had originally been intended to focus on "great women in history", but evolved into a wider concept.[6] It features several songs from a misogynist point of view.
Eve is The Alan Parsons Project's first album with singer Chris Rainbow. The album's opening instrumental "Lucifer" was a major hit in Europe, and "Damned If I Do" reached the US Top 40, peaking at No. 27. "Lucifer" also is used as title track for the German political TV show Monitor.

The Turn of a Friendly Card is the fifth studio album by the British progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released in 1980 by Arista Records. The title piece, which appears on side 2 of the LP, is a 16-minute suite broken up into five tracks, with the five tracks listed as sub-sections. The Turn of a Friendly Card spawned the hits "Games People Play" and "Time", the latter of which was Eric Woolfson's first lead vocal appearance.

The album follows the history of airborne exploration, from the mythological flight of Daedalus and Icarus to escape the labyrinth of the Minotaur in "Too Close to the Sun", through Leonardo da Vinci's search to design a flying machine, or ornithopter, in long-time Project drummer Stuart Elliott's "One Day To Fly", until finally mankind's aspirations for space exploration placed on the shoulders of a single astronaut in "So Far Away" and the subsequent superpower race to put a man on the moon in "Apollo", a track backed by John F. Kennedy's famous speech of 25 May 1961.
The song "Brother Up In Heaven" remembers Ian Bairnson's cousin Erik Mounsey who was killed in a friendly fire incident above Iraq in 1994.
