В остальном пластинка удалась. "Metropolis" не является скучным, излишне мягким или незавершенным альбомом. Начиная с хуковой «Wildside» и следующей за ней, такой же бодрой «Hollow», пластинка радует до последней ноты. 100% классические FM-песни типа «Unbreakable», «Over You» и грандиозная «Who'll Stop the Rain» ставят "Metropolis" на один уровень с “Tough It Out”. Хотя, признаюсь, я пережил бы, если б на альбом не попали бы американизированная «Bring Back Yesterday» или скучноватая «Don't Need Nothin'»Очень и очень достойный образчик такого редкого явления как «британский AOR» и безусловно один из лучших релизов жанра в этом году.

Closer to Heaven. Хард-рок группа FM была создана летом 1984 года в Лондоне. В ее состав вошли бывшие участники группы «Samson» басист Мерв Голдсворти (Merv Goldsworthy) и барабанщик Пит Юп (Pete Jupp); братья Оверленд (Overland) из группы «Wildlife» - вокалист/гитарист Стив и гитарист Крис Оверленд и клавишник Филипп Манчестер (Philip Manchester), также известный как «Didge Digital». В этом же году группа, записав 6 песен, заключила контракт с CBS/Portrait Records. Существует еще одна группа с таким названием - канадский коллектив, образовавшийся в 1976 и играющий прогрессивный и спэйс-рок.

Что хочется сказать о дебютной работе британской AOR-группы FM? 'Atomic Generation' is a perfect representation of where FM are in 2018, with straightforward AOR mixed with more creative styles, all held together by a band that are tighter than Scrooge McDuck's purse strings.
