Только малолюбопытным меломанам неизвестно, что дважды бывший барабанщик Kiss Питер Крисс – огромный любитель классического эстрадного джаза в исполнении биг-бэндов, а его кумиром всегда был коллега по инструменту Бадди Рич. Но громкое рок-прошлое всегда тяготело над Питером – и только сейчас, на пятом за 29 лет сольном альбоме с теоретически сильно рок-н-ролльным названием «Один за всех», музыкант решился дать волю лирической стороне своей натуры. Произошедшее вызывает некоторую оторопь: всё-таки целый альбом баллад – это не совсем то, чего ждешь от экс-музыканта Kiss. Другое дело, что некогда чикагский, а ныне базирующийся в Чехии Master, детище Paul'a Speckmann'a, начинал свою карьеру, исполняя гораздо более агрессивную музыку. Но, в отличие от сотен thrash/death групп, в начале девяностых решительно переступивших порог между жанрами, “Мастера” в пределы стопроцентно «смертельного» жанра так и не вступили. Более того, на «Collection of Souls» можно найти как классические хэви-метал риффы, так и почти панк-роковые запилы. В свое время именно этот «шаг назад» привел к тому, что группа была почти забыта даже в пределах андеграунда, хотя данный релиз объективно очень даже неплох.т

Четвертая работа жгучего американского инструменталиста действительно зацепила. Несмотря на появление большого количества вокальных партий, музыка не потеряла своего шарма и остается все таким же авангардно-инструментальным хард-роком/AOR-ом, с оригинальнейшей мелодикой грустноватого привкуса, которые относятся к "ностальгиню-навевающим" альбомам моей коллекции. Все выдержано в классическом духе предыдущих работ - среднетемповые крепенькие вещицы с великолепнейшими мелодийными элементами. Таковыми являются как запомнившиеся мне аккустическо-сологитарно-клавишные переходы, так и вокал, записанный на половине вещей. Он оказался как нельзя кстати, и только подчеркивает и приумножает ностальгический пресс.

Obtained Enslavement's Witchcraft fulfills the "symphonic black metal" label much better than most other bands of that tag. It is symphonic not only in its use of synthesized strings but also in the diverse instrumentation and extensive use of counterpoint and development of themes. It is black-metal in that it has hateful vocals, sinister atmosphere, and composition based on tremolo-picked guitar riffs.

An American in Paris is a jazz-influenced symphonic poem (or tone poem)[1] for orchestra by American composer George Gershwin first performed in 1928. It was inspired by the time that Gershwin had spent in Paris and evokes the sights and energy of the French capital during the Années folles.

Gershwin scored the piece for the standard instruments of the symphony orchestra plus celesta, saxophones, and automobile horns. He brought back four Parisian taxi horns for the New York premiere of the composition, which took place on December 13, 1928, in Carnegie Hall, with Walter Damrosch conducting the New York Philharmonic.

В данном случае мы имеем дело с лучшим, на мой взгляд, альбомом Менгиров. В нем удачно объединены лучшие моменты первых альбомов, а также романтичность Buchonia. Альбом слушается на одном дыхании - с первых риффов и до последнего соло. Сильной стороной данного альбома, несомненно, является чистый мужской вокал, благодаря которому и создается атмосфера древности. А слабой - скриминг, коего, к счастью, на альбоме немного. В целом, альбом среднетемповый, однако встречаются и скоростные моменты. Возможно, некоторым слушателям "Hildebrandslied" покажется чрезмерно вылизанным и в некоторой степени коммерческим, но это не умаляет его достоинств.
