The Infinite Steve Vai: An Anthology is Steve Vai's compilation album that was released in 2003 (see 2003 in music). This two-disc compilation spans Vai's entire solo career, featuring the best tracks from most of his albums including Fire Garden, Passion and Warfare, Alien Love Secrets and The Ultra Zone. One song is even included from his Whitesnake days ("Kittens Got Claws") and one from his Alcatrazz days ("Lighter Shade of Green"). The songs on the album do not appear chronologically relative to Vai's career.

Fire Garden is the fourth studio album by guitarist Steve Vai, released on September 17, 1996 through Epic Records. The album reached No. 106 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and remained on that chart for two weeks, as well as reaching the top 100 in three other countries.

After two albums that were solidly written and performed but considerably underproduced, Royal Hunt exchanged Danish singer Henrik Brockmann for then-mostly-unknown American D.C. Cooper; this was the first album of any note that Cooper appeared on. The addition of an in-his-prime Cooper and massive production upgrades propel the band to soaring new heights.
Opener "Last Goodbye" immediately cements this fact. Cooper unleashes a soaring vocal performance that's arguably the highlight of his career, on top of the typical soaring neoclassical keyboard-driven backdrops of Andre Andersen. Ballad "Far Away" is another timeless classic; its vocal-and-keyboard coda is the most famous moment of Cooper's and Royal Hunt's career. "Makin' a Mess" marries a big 6/8 groove to some appealing neoclassical melodies. Closer "Time" features a massive ethereal C#5 from Cooper in the intro, igniting the track from acoustic ballad to urgent neoclassical rocker. The swinging "Step By Step" adds a rare element of welcome looseness to the band's sound, and "Stay Down" and "Give It Up" are competent second-half midtempo numbers.

Delicate Sound of Thunder is the first entirely live album by the English progressive rock band Pink Floyd. It was recorded over five nights at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, New York in August 1988 and mixed at Abbey Road Studios in September 1988. It was released on 22 November 1988, through EMI Records in the United Kingdom and Columbia Records in the United States.

With Mike Oldfield clearly beginning his shift away from ambitious multi-instrumental epics into more pop-inflected territory, what better time could there have been for his label to remind listeners that he'd always had an eye for the three-minute single? True, nothing here is as overt as "Family Man," the hit that he and his band wrote for Hall & Oates, but still a cover of ABBA's "Arrival" swiftly followed by such stirring delights as "Portsmouth," "In Dulci Jubilo," "On Horseback," "The Sailor's Hornpipe," and a pulsating live take of the disco hit "Guilty" depict a musician who was a far cry from the super-serious prodigy that the media still preferred to view him as.

The Best of the Pink Floyd, also issued as Masters of Rock, is a compilation album of early Pink Floyd music, concentrating on singles and album tracks from 1967 to 1968.

During my time at ProgPower Europe 2019, I heard a lot of chat about a band called Thoughts Factory. I’d never heard of them before but when there’s a buzz about a band at this great festival, I tend to sit up and take notice because the punters know their music. Regrettably my inability to get to bed at a reasonable hour on any night in Baarlo meant that I missed the impromptu listening session that was set up to hear this record. Nevertheless, I made it my mission to ensure that I checked out Thoughts Factory when time allowed.

Leeds 6-piece frog-rock groovers Shaku have self released their debut album Maku, as the album is a divine representation of their creativity and musicianship which shines through even more so in their stellar live performances.
The group have a fantastic genre-fluid identity that sees them slip down the cracks between Canterbury scene prog, classic blues, funk-rock, UK jazz and epic old school rock. Having interviewed them back in May 2019, the band were ready back then to record after two years of relentless gigging, warfare, bloodshed and liquid consumption, and they did so live at The Nave Studios, Pudsey, and also in a living room in Burley. The theme of the album is a timeline of Shaku, covering a lot of musical and lyrical ground that each represent a different period in the band which has evolved over time, both together as a group and as individuals.

Italy has always been a prime center for music, from the days of classical all the up to the modern day. SECRET ALLIANCE confirms my opinion with their outer cosmic Progressive Hard Rock album “Solar Warden”. SECRET ALLIANCE was founded by guitarist Gianluca Galli (SILVER HORSES & MANTRA) initially as his solo project, but found he was wanting to create music with some extra complexity involved. He recruited the incredible Ricardo Confessori (ex-ANGRA) and fantastic hard rock bassist Tony Franklin to round out the constant members in every song. There are many guest musicians on this futuristic/sci-fi inspired album including Frank Gambale (CHICK COREA BAND) and Alex Masi. These great musicians create a futuristic world in sound.
