Этот альбом продолжает тематичную и музыкальную линию последних творений группы. Здесь в наибольшей степени выразилось то, к чему группа шла последние несколько лет: постепенный и довольно плавный переход от викинг-блэка к прогрессив-блэку достиг апогея. Группа всегда была для меня своеобразным примером творческого развития "step by step"... взять и сравнить "The Focusing Blur" с , например, легендарным "Till fialls" 1999 года - это две разные группы, трудно будет найти хоть что-нибудь общее. и речь идент не о коммерциализации, "опопсевании" и т.д., а именно о развитии по всем параметрам.
