All Over the World: The Very Best of Electric Light Orchestra is a compilation album by the Electric Light Orchestra, released in 2005. Originally released exclusively in the band's home market (the UK), the album sold very well, becoming the ELO's first Top Ten entry since Dino Record's compilation album The Very Best of the Electric Light Orchestra hit number 4 in 1994. All Over the World sold over 300,000 copies in the UK alone within a year and a half of its release. The albums The Electric Light Orchestra, ELO 2, Eldorado, and Balance of Power were not represented on the compilation.

The Seldom Seen Kid is the fourth studio album by the alternative rock band Elbow. It was released by Fiction Records on 17 March 2008 in the United Kingdom and was released by Geffen Records on 22 April 2008 in the United States. The album debuted at number five on the UK Albums Chart and won the Mercury Prize in 2008.

И пусть релиз периодически упрекают в отвратном сведении, людей, далеких от снобистских замашек, это смущать не должно. Да, временами "провалена" ритм-гитара, режут слух расходящиеся эхом по просторам записи ударные, но кого это волнует, при настолько четко прописанных, глубоких и изобретательных приемах, что мы слышим в дуэлях Фридмана и Мастейна?

Новый альбом этой отличной дэт-группы вышел через 4 года после предыдущей работы In Dark Purity - долгий перерывчик. Хотя, похоже, это нормальный интервал для этих ребят. Итак, что же потребовало такой долгой работы? Альбом в стиле предшественника, но технически его превосходит. Перед нами дэт-металл со сложными партиями, красивыми соло а-ля Death, чистейшим звучанием (отчетливо слышна бас-гитара) и мощным гроулингом. Это, конечно, не что-то оригинальное, но очень качественное. А это именно то, чего сейчас не хватает многим грандам жанра. Этот альбом из разряда неприедающихся. Молодцы, ребята!

Величественные северные металические гимны викингов, мощная размеренная музыка и злобный скриминг пораждают в голове образы нордической скандинавской природы, заснеженные леса, огромные скалы и тёмное бушующее море... Композиции разнообразны и интересны, правда, их только 5! И это при длительности альбома в 70 минут! Но, как только погружаешься душой в их музыку, становится понятно сразу - для Moonsorrow это оптимальный вариант. Прогресс в музыке также налицо.

Зато какие замечательные бодрящие и заводные композиции получаются! А еще Misery Index не боятся заигрывать с мрачным мелодизмом, что можно услышать на композициях "Sensory Deprivation" и одноименной "Discordia". При этом группа четко выдерживает жесткую и бескомпромиссную дэт-металлическую концепцию, оставаясь в довольно узких рамках стиля.

Вот еще один замечательный отечественный коллектив. Это для тех, кто еще сомневается в творческом потенциале российской метал-сцены. На представленном релизе Mind Eclipse исполняют микс из блэка и дэта с более, чем явным уклоном в сторону первого. Должен сказать, очень сильный материал. На альбоме нашлось место не только жестким риффам и непрерывному барабанному молотилову, но даже и мелодиям и легким ненавязчивым клавишам. Последних достаточно мало, они похожи на слабое осторожное прикосновение ледяного ветра к кипящей агрессивной массе.

You must have everything, and you must have everything on every single format, on each compilation, from any place in the world. Here comes Blue For You, a compilation from Australia that puts together some helpful bits and bobs for the obsessive fan. Not all-encompassing, this collection does have it's strong points--although it misses out on her debut solo single "I Only Want To Be With You", it includes her incredible reading of the Burt Bacharach classic "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself", and, interestingly, the B-side to that single--"My Colouring Book". The collection leaps around the years--at one point landing in 1970 for her duet with Tom Springfield, "Morning Please Don't Come"--but if you want to have everything, you can excuse the erratic nature to hear some immaculate vocal talent. -- Charlie Porter

Notorious is the fourth studio album by the English new wave/synthpop band Duran Duran. Released in November 1986, it peaked at #16 in the UK and #12 in the US. Produced by the band with Nile Rodgers, the album showcased a new musical direction for the band, emphasizing bass and brass as exemplified by the singles "Notorious" and "Skin Trade".
In 2010, EMI released a raft of material surrounding the Notorious reissue consisting of a three disc boxset, a digital only EP, and a digital only live album. The boxset also includes remixes, live tracks and the Working for the Skin Trade live video (for the first time on DVD).
