Released as a single in April 1974 in the US and in June 1974 in the UK, it topped the charts and sold over a million copies in 1974 in the United States, and reached number 3 in the United Kingdom. An international success, it has become one of the band's most famous songs.

McCartney, der im Sommer 1973 die Songs für Band on the Run schrieb, plante, das neue Album außerhalb Großbritanniens aufzunehmen und hatte sich für ein EMI-Aufnahmestudio in Lagos (Nigeria) entschieden. Rund eine Woche vor dem Abflug nach Lagos eskalierte die schlechte Stimmung im Aufnahmestudio und der Gitarrist Henry McCullough stieg aus der Band aus. Paul McCartney sagte dazu: „Henry wurde gebeten, ein bestimmtes Gitarrenlick auf einem von Dennys Songs zu spielen, und er lehnte ab. Da ich selbst ein bisschen Gitarrist bin, wusste ich, dass es gespielt werden kann. Und anstatt es durchgehen zu lassen, konfrontierte ich ihn damit und wir hatten einen Streit. Am nächsten Morgen rief er an und sagte, er wolle aufhören.“

The album was mostly recorded at EMI's studio in Lagos, Nigeria, as McCartney wanted to make an album in an exotic location. Shortly before departing for Lagos, drummer Denny Seiwell and guitarist Henry McCullough left the group. With no time to recruit replacements, McCartney went into the studio with just his wife Linda and Denny Laine. McCartney therefore played bass, drums, percussion and most of the lead guitar parts. The studio was of poor quality and conditions in Nigeria were tense and difficult; the McCartneys were robbed at knifepoint, losing a bag of song lyrics and demo tapes. After the band's return to England, final overdubs and further recording were carried out in London, mostly at AIR Studios.

Band on the Run is the third studio album by the British rock band Paul McCartney and Wings, released on 30 November 1973. It was McCartney's fifth album after leaving the Beatles in April 1970 and his final album on Apple Records. Although sales were modest initially, its commercial performance was aided by two hit singles – "Jet" and "Band on the Run" – such that it became the top-selling studio album of 1974 in the United Kingdom and Australia, in addition to revitalising McCartney's critical standing. It remains McCartney's most successful album and the most celebrated of his post-Beatles works.

Wild Life is the debut studio album by the British-American rock band Wings and the third studio album by Paul McCartney after the breakup of the Beatles. The album was mainly recorded in seven sessions between 24 July and 4 September 1971 (additional overdubs were added during sessions in October 1971), at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) by McCartney, his wife Linda, session drummer Denny Seiwell, whom they had worked with on the McCartneys' previous album Ram, and guitarist Denny Laine, formerly of the English rock band the Moody Blues. It was released by Apple Records on 7 December in the UK and US, to lukewarm critical and commercial reaction.

Разумеется, Accept, хоть и облачились в спандексы и сделали жуткую химию на головах, не докатились до исполнения глэм-метала a-la Warrant или Poison. «Eat the Heat» сделан по всем законам жанра hard-n-heavy. Жесткие гитарные партии, мощная ритм-секция, берущий за душу вокал. Благодаря уже упомянутому Риису, саунд группы обрел новые краски, стал более мелодичным и от этого только выиграл. При этом ряд песен, написанных при участии Удо, например, «X-T-C», оказались жизнеспособными и с новым вокалистом. Любая композиция, будь то немного напоминающая Scorpions «Prisoner», эталон мелодичной тяжести «Break the Ice», «Hell Hammer», баллада «Mistreated» достойна стать хитом.

Один из главных камбеков года состоялся. Снежок выпустил свой шестой полноформатник на немецком метал-гиганте Nuclear Blast после трехлетнего затишья. Кажется именно влиянием лейбла можно оправдать уже не такое воздушное звучание как на прошлых релизах, впрочем, это все тот же старый добрый зефир от Нежа, хотя и с еле заметным привкусом метала, как по мне.

На мой взгляд, саунд на Damned And Mummified можно было бы нарулить и получше - уж очень все сыровато звучит. Хотя, может быть в этом фишка, этакий дух андеграунда, присущий большинству релизов наших российских команд. Музыка группы представляет собой неторопливый дэт с легким налетом психоделии, абсолютно лишенный скоростного месилова. Вязкие, тягучие, прямо- таки блэксаббатовские риффы; среднетемповые, размеренные партии ударных.

About the album. The Making of Scenes from a Memory is an Official Bootleg by Dream Theater released on theYtseJam Records label. Containing two discs, the first of which was originally proposed as the xmas gift for 2000 is a “Making Of” album similar to the “Making of Falling Into Infinity”, first released through the fan clubs and then later released through YtseJam Records. This disc contains outtakes and in-progress snapshots of the recording sessions, where fans can see how the album was developed in the studio. It’s a candid look into the process of making an album. The second disc is the first mix, as done by David Bottrill. This was the original mix completed for the album, but John Petrucci was unhappy with the way it sounded, so they brought in Kevin Shirley to remix the CD.

Первая песня с нового альбома Destruction убивает наповал. “Soul Collector” – отличный трэшевый боевик, сочетающий в себе гитарные риффы в лучших традициях жанра, чуть ли не блэковые барабаны и великолепный современный звук. Второй трек “The Defiance Will Remain” тоже очень хорош, а третий, “The Alliance Of Hellhoundz”, просто потрясающ. На этой композиции Destruction собрали аж девять приглашенных вокалистов, в том числе Биффа Байфорда (Saxon), Пиви Вагнера (Rage), Шаграта (Dimmu Borgir), Доро и даже Пола ДиАнно, а гитарные соло записали, помимо прочих, бывший гитарист группы Харри Уилкенс и даже Ферди Дорнберг из Rough Silk. С первых секунд начинается обалденно тяжелый, злобный и безкомпромисный метал. Параллели с последним Destruction улавливаются сразу. Тот же очень брутальный, немного грязноватый и даже немного приблэкованный звук гитар, та же безкомпромисная скорость, тот же злой, просто неземной злобы вокал. Хотя утверждать, что ребята занялись тупым плагиатом своих старших коллег по цеху тоже нельзя. Есть у них что-то свое, что-то современное, что подсказывает, что группа не из далеких 80-х, а взращена уже в наши дни. Группе удалось достигнуть разнообразия, их композиции не звучат все на одно лицо, везде применены разные мелодии, ритмы и скорости.
