Так уж вышло, что Швеция в контексте дэт-метала у большинства слушателей находит прямые ассоциации с т.н. «мелодичным» проявлением этого жанра и всякими гётебургскими школами. Дебютный альбом шведов LUCIFERION вышел в тираж в 1994 году, когда AT THE GATES уже встали на ноги, DARK TRANQUILITY и IN FLAMES только пытались сделать это, а HYPOCRISY, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED и иже с ними покамест не открыли для себя сомнительные ценности и преимущества метал-мэйнстрима. На мировом уровне death metal вовсю набирал популярность - основные очаги возгорания в Англии и Флориде уже поглотили в себе thrash metal, но ещё не разгорелись до пожара техничного брутального дэт-метала: почерк талантливых команд того времени был понятный, но не примитивный, ровный, твёрдый и внятно читаемый.

"Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants" – это альбом все того же старого "доброго" Nightfall, насыщенный атмосферными композициями с мощными риффами и запоминающимися мелодиями. Все так же хочется прослушивать весь альбом целиком вновь и вновь. При этом ни разу не возникло мысли, что "Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants" и "Lyssa (Rural Gods & Astonishing Punishments)" разделяет шестилетний перерыв и полная смена музыкантов группы. Последние, между тем, продемонстрировали высококлассную технику исполнения. Абсолютно все без исключения.В итоге, "Astron Black and the Thirty Tyrants" – это монолит высококлассного doom-death metal’a, который шквалом обрушивается на слушателя, погружая его в пучину загадочного и неповторимого мира Nightfall.

Созданный той же лихой компанией, что и «Inside the Torn Apart», этот альбом мог быть только странным. Хотя, вспоминают о нём ещё реже, чем о полу-индустриальном эксперименте 1997-го года. И зря. Во-первых: ND – это всегда ND. Во-вторых: тот же восхитительно ледяной, механический риффинг с прошлого альбома с вылетами к собственно тому "Напалму", который мы знаем с 2000-х годов, то есть к актуальному «придэтованному» звуку. Типичная для работы 1997-го года мутная лирика между социальной критикой и заразными мысленными отторжениями воспалённого мозга. Глубоко пессимистичная атмосфера, бессильная ярость принужденного к стороннему наблюдению субъекта, прекрасно демонстрируемая хриплыми воплями и «чистым» отрешённым голосом Барни.

My Winter Storm has sold Platinum in Finland and Double Platinum in Russia, and also reached Tarja's first gold disc in her entire career in the Czech Republic; the album spent two and a half months on the Official Finnish Albums Chart, reaching the highest position right during the first week, also spending four months on German Top 100, two months on Swiss Top 100 and also a full month on the Austrian Top 40, ending 2007 at 11th position on Billboard's Top 100 European albums with more than 500,000 copies sold. To promote the album, Tarja played the Storm World Tour, that took place from Berlin on November 25, 2007, to London on October 19, 2009.

My Winter Storm is the second solo album by Finnish singer Tarja Turunen, and the first to consist mainly of new and original songs specifically written by or for Turunen. The album was released by Universal Music on 19 November 2007 in Finland, on 2 January 2008 in South America and on February 26 in North America and in the United Kingdom was also released a special version limited in 300 copies.

Prince of Darkness is a box set of four CDs by Ozzy Osbourne released in 2005. The first two CDs are Osbourne's solo work containing various studio recordings, live tracks, b-sides, demos and outtakes, and the last two CDs are collaborations on disc three and cover songs on disc four. The cover versions were recorded for this box set compilation, but were released on a stand-alone album entitled Under Cover later in the year.
Notably, the album tracks from Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman included in the set are taken from the 2002 remasters of those albums, for which the original drum and bass tracks were replaced with new recordings by Osbourne's then-current bassist Robert Trujillo and drummer Mike Bordin, as a management response to legal action by original bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake for unpaid royalty fees. Likewise, the tracks from Bark at the Moon are similarly taken from the 2002 remaster, for which they were remixed and altered.

Resist (stylized as ЯƎSIST) is the seventh studio album by Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation. It was scheduled to be released worldwide on 14 December 2018, but later postponed to 1 February 2019. The album contains guest appearances by singers Jacoby Shaddix (Papa Roach), Anders Fridén (In Flames) and Jasper Steverlinck (Arid) and was produced by their longtime producer Daniel Gibson. It marks the longest time gap between the band's studio releases, the last one being issued in 2014. The album followed the band's pattern of incorporating new musical elements on each release, this time featuring more electronic, pop, and industrial influences. Lyrically, the band opted to focus more on political themes, a subject not explicitly approached by them on previous records.

Holy Diver is the debut studio album by the American heavy metal band Dio, released in 1983. The album was acclaimed by the music press and is the band's most successful album.

Venus Doom is the sixth studio album by Finnish gothic rock band HIM. The album was recorded at Finnvox Studios in Helsinki with producers Hiili Hiilesmaa and Tim Palmer, both whom had collaborated with the band on various occasions, and released on 14 September 2007. During the making of Venus Doom, HIM was struggling with the personal problems of their vocalist Ville Valo. Among other things, his alcohol abuse had worsened to the point that he suffered a nervous breakdown during the recording process, after which he was admitted to the Promises Rehabilitation Clinic in Malibu by HIM's manager Seppo Vesterinen. Musically the album has been described as HIM's heaviest and darkest album to date, with influences from bands such as My Dying Bride, Anathema and Paradise Lost. Much of the album's lyrical themes and heaviness were inspired by Valo's personal difficulties, including his break-up with fiancé Jonna Nygrén.

Triumph and Agony is the fourth and final studio album by the German heavy metal band Warlock, released on 29 September 1987.
The album was recorded in the US with producer Joey Balin and a different band line-up in comparison with the previous album True as Steel, which had made the name of Warlock known outside of Europe. Peter Szigeti and Frank Rittel were replaced in 1987 by the American musicians Tommy Bolan and Tommy Henriksen respectively. The album also features British drummer Cozy Powell on some tracks.

И тоже, на удивление вполне вменяемый альбом. Пусть и звучит уже как сборник каверов группы на самих себя, но в этот раз они хотя бы вернулись к бодрой модернухе, оставив поп-танцульки из крайней плиты в прошлом. Откровений никаких и былых восторгов, как во времена дебюта, от альбома тоже можно не ждать. Но несколько зажигательных хитов (Inferno, Helix, Dream, Momentum, My Haven) тут как всегда в наличии, а большего я уже и не ждал от них.

Вообще, "Maximalism" является логичным продолжителем предыдущего альбома, но не без изрядной дозы экспериментов. Следует отметить большой крен в сторону популярных американских исполнителей и откровенной электроники, хотя прежде звучание Amaranthe было по большей части классическим шведским и основывалось на простеньких синтезаторных сэмплах. Гитары и ударные нынче задвинуты на второй план, уступая место красочной нетипичной для группы электронике, что сделало музыку немного легче, и ещё более качёвой, чем прежде. По-прежнему присутствуют гитарные соло, а звук, как и всегда, записан на уровне, потому недостаток гитар не ощущается.

The Nexus is the second studio album by Swedish heavy metal band Amaranthe. The album was released on varying dates in March 2013, starting on the 13th in Japan and concluding on the 26th in the US. The Nexus is a development of the sound and ideas Amaranthe introduced on their first record. The band stated that they felt "the contrasts are greater, the mix and blends of genres is more controversial, and more creative freedoms were taken in this album." It was the last album with harsh vocalist Andy Solveström.

По поводу музыкального материала - продукт получился качественным, добротным, с большой долей коммерции. Но как в большинстве коммерческих проектах , на мой сугубо субъективный взгляд, альбому не хватает какой-то искорки, способной разжечь огонь в душе (как в первых двух альбомах), нет чего-то революционно нового, чем могли бы удивить музыканты. В целом ставлю твёрдую "четвёрку".

Amaranthe is the debut studio album by Swedish heavy metal band Amaranthe. The album was released April 11, 2011 and reached #35 and #16 on the Swedish and Finnish charts respectively. It also topped the Japanese Import charts beating Lady Gaga. A deluxe edition was released in October 2011, featuring two bonus tracks and a DVD.
