Нам обещали dark depressive rock, или нечто подобное, но бессовестно обманули. Потому что новая работа немцев звучит так, будто Вилле Вало решил сыграть вместе с Кататонией немного пост-дума, разбавив его блэковыми воплями. Вокал - чистый HIM, хотя голос у Элдрона несоизмеримо сильнее и мелодичнее. Музыка - в том же русле, что и «Dead End Kings» Ренксе и Блэкхейма, только с упором на чистый звук, красоту мелодий и меланхолию, а не депрессивную пост-похмельную тоску. Плюс скриминг. Весьма, к слову, уместный.

Настроение здесь тоже несколько отличается от того, что мы слышим "To Lay Like Old Ashes". Здесь всё как-то... холоднее. Более морозно, более снежно, более трагично. Но при этом и более погружающе - уж очень хорош этот обволакивающий звук гитары, уносящий сознание бродить под медленный и крупный снегопад.

Сделав небольшую передышку, Кларк вместе с Кингом отправился в Дублин и собрал там новую версию "Fastway", в которую вошли музыканты из бывшей группы Дэйва, Шэйн Кэрролл (гитара, клавишные), Пол Рейд (бас) и Алан Коннор (ударные). Для записи следующего альбома Кларк ангажировал звукоинженера "ZZ Top" Терри Мэннинга. Саунд "Waiting For The Roar" отличался от первых работ AOR-направленностью, а местами группа использовала оркестровые фрагменты.

Второй альбом, "Malformed seed" (2000), звучал медленнее и тяжелее. Достаточная оригинальность музыки выделила эту группу из сонмища других, переполнявших шведскую black/death metal сцену. В том же гоу Grief Of Emerald отправились в тур по Европе и выступили на фестивалях Parti san и Wave Gotik Treffen в Германии перед тысячами изумлённых зрителей.

На этот раз проблем с гастролями не было, в тур Galactic Cowboys поехали опять с King's X, но уже без Алана Досса - его место на время турне занял Эрик Татука.

Strange Highways is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Dio. It's also their first album since Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice's reunion tour with Black Sabbath. The European release was on Vertigo, in October 1993; the U.S. release was on Reprise Records, in January 1994.
After the short-lived reunion with Black Sabbath for the recording of the album Dehumanizer (1992) and the subsequent tour, Dio and Appice returned to Dio's solo group, hiring Tracy Grijalva as new guitarist. Former Dio bassist Jimmy Bain was to make a return to the band, but he was soon sacked by Dio and replaced by Jeff Pilson. It is considered Dio's heaviest and darkest album.

Magica is the eighth studio album by American heavy metal band Dio. A concept album, it was produced by frontman Ronnie James Dio and released on March 21, 2000, through Spitfire Records.
The album marks the return of guitarist Craig Goldy, who also has performed on Dio's album Dream Evil and in the later release Master of the Moon. Magica also features Jimmy Bain on bass and Simon Wright on drums. The album was originally planned to be the first part of a trilogy of concept albums. Shortly before beginning his tour with Heaven & Hell, Dio announced his intention to start the Magica II & III album after the tour's end, but he died shortly after of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010. The only song released from Magica II & III was titled "Electra".

Lock Up the Wolves is the fifth studio album by American heavy metal band Dio, released on May 15, 1990. It displayed a complete change of musician line-up over the previous Dream Evil album, including 18-year-old guitarist Rowan Robertson, and Simon Wright on drums who had played with AC/DC from 1983 to 1989. The song "Evil on Queen Street" takes its title from a deli in Toronto which had a sandwich with that name—per Dio on Much Music in 1990.

Dream Evil is the fourth studio album released by the American heavy metal band Dio, on July 21, 1987. It features former Rough Cutt members Craig Goldy and Claude Schnell, and includes the singles "All the Fools Sailed Away" and "I Could Have Been a Dreamer". Dream Evil was Dio's last album to feature Murray on the cover and also the last to feature drummer Vinny Appice until the 1993 album Strange Highways. It was also the last album to feature bassist Jimmy Bain until the release of 2000's Magica.

Magnum Opus is the eighth studio album by guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen, released on 17 October 1995 (see release history). The album reached No. 11 on the Finnish albums chart and No. 17 on the Swedish albums chart.

Для любителей кровавого мясного брутала этот диск станет хорошим подарком. Ничего революционного, но узнаваемый почерк Vile привлекает внимание. Все сделано качественно и со вкусом. Отличнейшая работа барабанщика Tyson Jupin с его неистовыми тарелками и двойными бас-бочками; вокал Juan Urteaga, основанный на стандартной death metal манере, но более вариативный. Стоит также отметить мелодичный завершающий диск трек - соло на ситаре.
