В 1986 году, спустя четыре года после распада первого состава Bad Company, гитарист Мик Ральфс и ударник Саймон Кирк решили объединить усилия для создания нового проекта. Однако, по настоянию рекорд-лейбла, мужикам пришлось взять старое, коммерчески выгодное название. Басист Боз Баррелл, сперва участвовавший в записи, неожиданно ушёл, поэтому в срочном порядке, наряду с экс-вокалистом Теда Ньюджента Брайаном Хоу, был рекрутирован сессионный бас-гитарист Стив Прайс. Доукомплектовав состав клавишником Грегом Дечертом, музыканты продолжили работу в студии. Большинство песен было написано Ральфсом в соавторстве с Хоу, оказавшимся весьма одарённым сонграйтером. В результате (во многом, под влиянием нового певца) получился 100%-ный AOR-альбом, который, хоть и не достиг чартовых высот, может по праву считаться классикой стиля. Все песни, записанные на диске, гипермелодичны и запоминаются влёт. Один этот лонгплей содержит больше хитов, чем вся продукция Frontiers за полгода: тут и ритмичный arena-rock «Fame and Fortune», «Valerie», «If I’m Sleeping» и «Burning Up» (к созданию которой приложил руку гитарист Foreigner Мик Джонс), и приправленные саксофоном, заводная «Tell It Like It Is», романтичная «Hold on My Heart» и, пожалуй, главный хит альбома – шикарная «This Love». Не меньшего внимания заслуживают баллада «When We Made Love» и более спокойные вещи «Long Walk» и «That Girl» (всё же взрывающаяся мощным припевом). Конечно, с уходом Пола Роджерса из песен в значительной степени исчезла блюзовая изюминка, но зато Брайан Хоу добавил звучанию группы лёгкости и стадионного мелодизма.

Из первых четырех альбомов этой команды, все из которых были выпущены на лейбле Harvest, этот я считаю самым худшим. Здесь слишком много баллад, причем явно переоркестрованных, да и средняя продолжительность тем стала меньше, о чем говорится и в названии («…короткие истории»), а мне от прогрессивного рока хочется все-таки чего-нибудь более продолжительного. В то же время заметно, что группа по-прежнему старалась привлечь к себе внимание, но все никак

Хард-роковая команда «April Wine» образовалась в 1969 году. В оригинальный состав вошли три брата Хенмана: Дэвид (гитара), Ричи (ударные) и Джим (вокал, бас), скооперировавшиеся с Майлсом Гудвином (вокал, гитара). Весной 1970-го коллектив перебазировался из провинциального Халифакса в Монреаль, где парням удалось заключить контракт с «Aquarius Records». Уже на первом альбоме Гудвин проявил незаурядный композиторский талант, и его песня «Fast Train» зазвучала на канадских радиостанциях. В конце 1971-го Джима Хенмана сменил Джим Кленч, и группа приступила к работе над второй пластинкой. К сессиям был привлечен продюсер Ральф Мерфи, чьей задачей являлась раскрутка группы до международного уровня. Поставленной цели практически удалось достигнуть, и песня «You Could Have Been A Lady» не только возглавила национальный чарт, но и вошла в биллбордовский Топ 30. Альбом «On Record» получил золото, однако в коллективе разгорелся скандал, и Хенманам пришлось ретироваться.

It is their last album recorded with drummer and lead singer Phil Collins before his departure in 1996 to pursue solo projects full time. Turn It On Again: The Hits is a greatest hits album by British progressive rock/pop-rock band Genesis. The album was originally released as a single album on 26 October 1999 by Virgin Records in England and by Atlantic Records in the United States.
In 2007, an expanded two-disc edition, subtitled The Tour Edition, was released to promote the Turn It on Again reunion tour. All of the tracks, except for "The Carpet Crawlers 1999," were remixed by Nick Davis. In addition, the album features more songs from every album in the band's catalogue (minus the live albums and From Genesis to Revelation). Besides the 2-CD version, a 2-CD + 2-DVD version was issued, which included The Video Show DVD and When in Rome DVD.

Following their 1991 We Can't Dance tour, Genesis released two live albums - Genesis Live: The Way We Walk Volume One: The Shorts and Genesis Live: The Way We Walk Volume Two: The Longs. While The Longs was aimed more at the long-term progressive fans, The Shorts was geared more toward the newer 'singles' fans.
I fit into the Longs category. Despite having great live versions of songs such as "No Son of Mine", "Mama", and "Hold on my Heart", this just doesn't do anything for me. I can pretty much do without the Invisible Touch tracks, and there's little of necessity to tracks such as "I Can't Dance" and "That's All". But i'll cut my losses now while i'm ahead. It is, after all, The Shorts, and if i didn't want to hear the shorts, i'd put in The Longs instead, no? Which i will do 10 times out of 10... all the reason i needed to part with this.
Fairly smart move, though... one live CD for the Invisible Touch Club, another for the progheads, and neither has to be bogged down by the 'other' Genesis.

About Face is the second studio solo album by Pink Floyd vocalist and guitarist David Gilmour. Released in March 1984, it was co-produced by himself and Bob Ezrin. Two tracks, "All Lovers Are Deranged" and the more radio-friendly "Love on the Air", were co-written by Gilmour and his long-time friend Pete Townshend, the main songwriter for legendary rock band The Who (Gilmour composed the music and Townshend wrote the lyrics).

Cross Road is the first greatest hits album by American rock band Bon Jovi, released on October 13, 1994 by Mercury Records. The album contains hits from between Bon Jovi (1984) and Keep the Faith (1992) and two new tracks: the hit singles "Always" and "Someday I'll Be Saturday Night", as well as a new, updated rendition of "Livin' on a Prayer" entitled "Prayer '94" available only on the North American versions. "Runaway" was never recorded with the current band, though at that time there were plans to put a "Runaway '94" on the album but it was never recorded. The diner located on the cover of the album is the Roadside Diner in Wall Township, NJ, near the crossroads of Route 33 and Route 34.
