A Day In Brazil is the first in a series of recordings produced and arranged by the world renowned master guitarist/composer/producer Armik. A Day In Brazil celebrates the bossa nova and includes several well known bossa nova standards as well as a few new compositions from Armik. Danceable, easy on the ears, romantic and sensual, you ll love the rich, breezy, acoustic sounds that emanate from Armik's guitar. They are romantic beyond belief.

Amor De Guitarra is Armik's eighth solo recording and his second release for the Bolero record label. As one of the leaders of a movement that has been called flamenco nuevo or "new flamenco," which combines Spanish flamenco guitar with other Latin forms, this program is a true testament to the Western European style of world music. Amor De Guitarra is also one of Armik's most beautiful efforts since it effectively chronicles his respect, love and joy of playing the flamenco guitar on 11 newly composed songs.

The Czech-born composer Anton Reicha (1770–1836) was an exact contemporary of Beethoven – and his close friend from their mid-teens. The music of each man shows an awareness of what the other was doing: they showed each other their compositions-in-progress. But although Reicha was closely associated with one of the best-known names in western culture, his own music has been grievously neglected: only his woodwind quintets have achieved any currency. Of his vast cycle of almost forty string quartets just one has been recorded before – an omission this ambitious project intends to put right, thereby revealing one of the most inventive and engaging spirits in classical music.

This is an exceptional Acoustic Alchemy album. Their body of studio work is great. I've been following them from the start, and I've enjoyed the evolution of their sound album to album. Seeing them live is always a joy, usually as a 5 piece - 2 guitars, keyboards, bass and drums with the occasional guest on saxophone or trumpet. This live album was recorded in London with the latest incarnation of the group (and no guest). It must have been recorded at the Pizza Express, Dean Street, but the album notes don't say that. That's the only London venue that I know they've played in the last few years. I've seen them there and at The Stables, but not last year or this. Listening to this album that's now a big regret, but this makes up for it big time. The live setting allows them to relax and stretch out the arrangements. There is an extra energy and immediacy to their interplay that is really difficult to recreate in the studio, and this recording captures that live essence perfectly.
