A Child in the Mirror is an absolutely outstanding debut for this band from Athens, Greece. Don’t be fooled by the fact that they’re on the AltrOck label, which usually specializes in more RIO-styled bands. Ciccada sounds like a mixture of Jethro Tull and Gentle Giant with a bit of Hatfield and the North and Renaissance thrown in (mostly due to Evangelia Kozoni‘s Gaskin/Haslam styled vocals, but also musically). If I hadn’t already read about them before, I would have sworn this must be an English band just judging from their sound. My favorite features are the Tullish flute passages (and even guitar stylings) and organ solos that sound like “Apocalypse in 9/8″ performed by Dave Stewart. Completely riveting.

Brilliant in spite of its ragged texture, Cassandra Wilson's Silver Pony justly illuminates the important influence Wilson has had on all jazz vocals, since her artistic breakthrough with 1993's Blue Light 'Til Dawn (Blue Note). A sharp solution of live and studio performances, Silver Pony reveals the depth and breadth of both Wilson's enigmatic singing and instrumentation, that rich Delta organic approach disseminating throughout all of jazz vocals of the past 20 years. Always close to the blues, Wilson puts forth an extended live "Saddle Up My Pony," originally recorded by Charlie Patton in 1929, that succinctly frames her earthy method.

Cassandra Wilson has explored a lot of experiences, a lot of music, and that is testament to her curiosity, imagination, and intellect; and her album Another Country, created in collaboration with Fabrizio Sotti, has an elegance that is thoughtful and timeless. Cassandra Wilson’s song “Red Guitar” is painterly, poetic, its instrumentation classical and bluesy, with drumming that is precise and lively, whereas “No More Blues,” a song of determination in which misery is shown the door, is itself a light blues tune with finger-snap rhythm, a slowed-down beat with jangling assets, mellow, verging on strange. (“Just like Frank, I’m gonna do it my way,” Wilson says, an aside acknowledging Sinatra.) “O Sole Mio,” mellow, a little melancholy, has a Latin flavor; and, the Italian-language composition, a popular Neapolitan tune sung by Enrico Caruso and Mario Lanza, is here given a casually propulsive syncopation, and is pretty, possibly beautiful, followed by the meditative instrumental “Deep Blue.”

The first part of the sacred singspiel Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots, which was first performed in the Knights’ Hall of the Archbishop of Salzburg’s Palace on 12 March 1767, represents Mozart’s first extended dramatic work. He was eleven years old when he wrote it. Even without making allowances for the composer’s remarkable youth, Mozart’s music for the first part of Die Schuldigkeit des ersten Gebots is highly accomplished, full of descriptive flair and artistry. The allegorical figures of Barmherzigkeit and Gerechtigkeit are clearly differentiated, the former’s sympathetic compassion contrasting with the latter’s more matronly severity, while Weltgeist’s carefree hedonism is given full reign in arias of considerable virtuosity and difficulty.

Returning to her Mississippi blues roots, singer Cassandra Wilson interprets the stories like no one else can. Her warm, contralto voice hypnotizes. Surrounded by the natural sound of her 6-piece touring band, Wilson settles in for a refreshing look at Americana. Plaintive guitar cries and hands-down percussion provide a natural landscape. Steel pans, dobro, hand drums, and gentle, foot-stompin' rhythms give her traditional session credibility.

The veteran U.K. guitar hero Chris Spedding has worked with practically everyone, from Brian Eno and John Cale to Cleo Laine and the Wombles, and at the age of 70 he's still picking up a storm and full of rock & roll attitude, as demonstrated on his 2015 solo effort Joyland, his first album under his own name in six years.

Sucker (stylised as SUCKER) is the third studio album and second major-label album by English singer-songwriter Charli XCX, released on 15 December 2014 through Asylum Records, Atlantic Records, and Neon Gold Records. The album was met with generally positive reviews from critics, praising its throwback style.
Sucker was named the best pop album of 2014 by Rolling Stone and the second by Billboard. Additionally, it was named the sixth best album of 2014 by Rolling Stone[6] and Spin. If you were a fan of the bands EP … you can stop reading now. Get the album. It both builds and improves on the EP. If you were not a fan, then consider revisiting the album as the weaker songs on the EP (Unify) are the poorer ones on an album which, generally, is packed with AOR done with both aplomb and near perfection. Finally, if you’ve never heard of them (as I presume a lot of you wont) then this is a band who stylistically share musical DNA with those bands pushing contemporary AOR into the spotlight like WET, Work of Art or early-HEAT (yup.. All Swedish!) all of whom, themselves, are hugely influenced by the kings of the genre like Toto, Journey and Winger.

Messy Little Raindrops is the second studio album by British recording artist Cheryl Cole, released on 29 October 2010 by Fascination Records. The project is the follow-up to Cole's multi-platinum debut solo album 3 Words (2009), following seven successful years as a member of girl group Girls Aloud. Recorded in Los Angeles and London, Cole mainly worked with Wayne Wilkins who previously produced Cole's number one debut single "Fight for This Love".

Following her hiatus, Cheryl confirmed that Girls Aloud's would reunite and release a greatest hits compilation, after its release, the group embarked on their last tour and announced their permanent split. In July 2013 Cheryl began recording Only Human; the recording was later completed in August 2014.
