Даже представить себе нельзя, что будет в следующем повороте авангардной мысли гения, его сотворившего, поэтому и с жанром определяться можно долго: нестрогий блэк, но именно он является основой всех композиций с акустическими пассажами, которые иногда звучат то ли как Opeth, то ли как норвежский Shining с использованием джазовых инструментов.

Immediately drawing comparisons to similarly black metal-based and Dark Ages-fascinated acts such as England's Bal-Sagoth and Austria's Summoning, Dagorlad released a second, more ambitious album entitled The End of the Dark Ages in 2002 -- by which time Gandibleu was working with a new vocalist named Frederic Mercier.

This is an extremely cool set, unfortunately marred by substantial noise and distortion on several of the bonus tracks. Tracks A1-B2 are from the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club show on January 31st, 1995, where Dream Theater played covers exclusively. Some of these tracks (plus additional studio seasonings) made it to the Change Of Seasons EP, so it's cool to compare and see what was taken out or overdubbed. On the second disc, you get, among other things, the Abbey Road medley and O Holy Night ("The Night") with Charlie Dominici, Don't Look Past Me ("Past [Into The Sun]") with John Hendricks, an acoustic version of To Live Forever possibly from James LaBrie's audition period for the band in 1990, and three Petrucci solo pieces, Indulge In Reverie, A Late Summer's Rain, and Schizophrenia. Some of the bonus tracks can be found in better quality on the When Dream And Day Unite Demos, and Subconcious, which has the acoustic version of To Live Forever (simply titled "Forever").

И, вроде, можно уже начать говорить о самоповторах, но музыканты сами сказали, что специально сделали ностальгический альбом, потому что они снова собрались тем составом, который и выстроил известный стиль группы.

Гениальный альбом гениальных Darkthrone. Несмотря на качество исполнения и записи (а она здесь - как на хорошей демке). Но это и не так важно, главное - сам материал. Здесь (а также на дебютнике "Soulside Journey" и предшествующих ему демо 87-90-х годов) можно увидеть ВЕСЬ дэтовый потенциал группы, способность делать неповторимую, отличную и запоминающуюся музыку.
Как правильно заметили, на альбоме создана неповторимая кладбищенская атмосфера, такой больше нет ни у кого. Песни очень разнообразны, наполнены множеством риффов. Ещё нельзя не отметить потрясающую игру Фенриза на ударных и его вокальную работу. Женские вокалы не женские, а его.

Коллектив вернул слушателя в прошлое на 30 лет назад и сделал это внешне легко и непринужденно. Только сами музыканты знают и могут сказать, насколько трудоемким был этот процесс. Фанаты не зря ждали нового альбома, предчувствуя качественный релиз с классическими корнями и современной реализацией.

"The Masters Intolerant Empire" is a compilation which has the second Drowning the Light album "The Masters Empire" on it, as well as the "Ritual of Intolerance & Hatred" rehearsal on it. Out on CD through Dark Adversary Productions. "The Masters Empire" has had a few incarnations, this one being its most ferocious; Originally recorded in 2006 and only sent to a few contacts under the title "The Masters Call" it excluded the track "Waltz of Decay and Pestilence".

When Dream and Day Unite Demos 1987-1989 is a collection of demo recordings by Dream Theater released by Mike Portnoy under his YtseJam Records label. The CD contains pre-production demos as well as instrumental versions of the songs and songs that did not make it on to the album, or were recorded around the same time. Also included are six tracks the band recorded as a Christmas gift for their friends.

You must have everything, and you must have everything on every single format, on each compilation, from any place in the world. Here comes Blue For You, a compilation from Australia that puts together some helpful bits and bobs for the obsessive fan. Not all-encompassing, this collection does have it's strong points--although it misses out on her debut solo single "I Only Want To Be With You", it includes her incredible reading of the Burt Bacharach classic "I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself", and, interestingly, the B-side to that single--"My Colouring Book". The collection leaps around the years--at one point landing in 1970 for her duet with Tom Springfield, "Morning Please Don't Come"--but if you want to have everything, you can excuse the erratic nature to hear some immaculate vocal talent. -- Charlie Porter

Notorious is the fourth studio album by the English new wave/synthpop band Duran Duran. Released in November 1986, it peaked at #16 in the UK and #12 in the US. Produced by the band with Nile Rodgers, the album showcased a new musical direction for the band, emphasizing bass and brass as exemplified by the singles "Notorious" and "Skin Trade".
In 2010, EMI released a raft of material surrounding the Notorious reissue consisting of a three disc boxset, a digital only EP, and a digital only live album. The boxset also includes remixes, live tracks and the Working for the Skin Trade live video (for the first time on DVD).
