Несмотря на небольшие недостатки, Forefather по прежнему звучат чертовски убедительно. Да, эта музыка (как группа, так и стиль) не особо тяжела или агрессивна, но здесь есть то, что делает её особенной. Музыка Forefather, как ни у кого в Англии и у немногих, в общем-то, групп в мире, обладает стойким привкусом крови минувших сражений. Mit Rumours hatte die Band 1977 ein Album vorgelegt, das zu den erfolgreichsten der Band- und Rockgeschichte gehörte. Sie gewannen Grammy Awards für dieses Album und gingen 1978 erneut ins Studio, um neue Songs aufzunehmen. Der finanzielle Erfolg von Rumours sorgte dafür, dass die Band ein Budget für die Aufnahmen von 1 Mio. $ erhielt. Die Geldgeber von Warner erwarteten ein ähnlich kompaktes Mainstreamalbum, wie Rumours es war. Das monumentale Doppelalbum wurde dann jedoch von musikalischen Experimenten von Lindsey Buckingham geprägt und kam weit weniger gut an als das Vorgängeralbum. Tusk erreichte schließlich nicht die erwartete Topplatzierung in den US-Charts und kam nur bis auf den 4. Platz. Dennoch wurden in den nächsten Jahren über zwei Millionen Alben von Tusk verkauft. Tusk erklomm ebenso wie Rumours in Großbritannien den ersten Platz der Albumcharts, und in Deutschland war das Album mit Platz 3 als höchste Platzierung sogar erfolgreicher als Rumours, das nur den 6. Platz erreichen konnte.

Tusk is the twelfth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released as a double album on 12 October 1979. It is considered more experimental than their previous albums: partly a consequence of Lindsey Buckingham's sparser songwriting arrangements and the influence of post-punk. The production costs were estimated to be over $1 million (equivalent to $3.57 million in 2020), making it the most expensive rock album recorded to that date.
The band embarked on a nine-month tour to promote Tusk. They travelled extensively across the world, including the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, Japan, France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK. In Germany, they shared the bill with Bob Marley. On this world tour, the band recorded music for the Fleetwood Mac Live album released in 1980.

Time is the 16th studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 10 October 1995. This album features a unique line-up for the band featuring the addition of former Traffic guitarist Dave Mason and country vocalist Bekka Bramlett (daughter of Delaney and Bonnie). Lindsey Buckingham, who had left Fleetwood Mac in 1987, makes an appearance as a backing vocalist on one track, but Time is the only Fleetwood Mac album since 1974's Heroes Are Hard to Find not to feature any contribution from Stevie Nicks.
The album received unfavorable reviews from critics and was a commercial disappointment, failing to chart in the US and peaking at number 47 in the UK.

Then Play On is the third studio album by the British blues rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 19 September 1969. Jeremy Spencer did not feature on the album apart from "a couple of piano things" (according to Mick Fleetwood in Q magazine in 1990). The album offered a broader stylistic range than the classic blues of the group's first two albums. Tango in the Night is the fourteenth studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac. Released on 13 April 1987, it is the fifth, and to date, the last studio album from the band's most successful lineup of Lindsey Buckingham, Mick Fleetwood, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Stevie Nicks, as Buckingham left the band later that year.

Say You Will is the 17th studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on 15 April 2003. It followed 1995's Time and was their first album without vocalist/keyboardist Christine McVie, who had left the band in 1998 (although she made some brief appearances on it). Lindsey Buckingham took over primary keyboard duties for the album and Stevie Nicks added some limited additional keyboard parts.
The album would also be the band's final album with Buckingham, who was told to leave Fleetwood Mac in 2018, although he would participate in their online-only release, 2013's Extended Play.
