Flugzeug Trio is a prog-jazz Montreal-based band. Since the very beginning of the project an incredible chemistry between all three members has been leading the band in the most natural way, setting things up for amazing discoveries.The bass-less trio performs originals, which can best be described as very melodic with insane dynamics. Most compositions are written by Chapais and often arranged collectively, Gagné joining his out of the box ideas to Meza’s unusual rhythms to create a truly inventive project. On this album, they are joined by four-times Juno Award-winner bassist Chris Tarry who brings his fantastic vibe and wonderful sound.

Freddy Cole’s latest HighNote release, his eighth in 10 years, is a sort of 50th anniversary gift to himself, and to his listeners. In 1964, Cole made his LP debut with a fine, blues-tinged collection called Waiter, Ask the Man to Play the Blues. It should have set him on the path to stardom, but he sounded a bit too much like big brother Nat. Backing Cole this time out is a superb ensemble of musicians including pianist John di Martino, drummer Curtis Boyd, bassist Elias Bailey, and guitarist Randy Napoleon. This is urbane yet earthy vocal jazz performed by a true master of the genre.

As before, the band, led by Stefano Panunzi and Nicola Lori, are joined by an impressive cast of guest musicians, including Jakko M Jakszyk, Tim Bowness, 05Ric, Mike Applebaum, Nicola Alesini and Gavin Harrison.
Co-produced by Jakszyk, Words Are All We Have presents a sophisticated combination of Art Rock and Progressive Rock influences that incorporate tasteful atmospherics, melancholy melodies, driving rhythms, twisting fretless bass lines and imaginative riffs (recalling aspects of Porcupine Tree, Eno, Japan, King Crimson and No-Man).

Sol Invictus is also the band's first album since 1992's Angel Dust not to feature a lineup change from after one consecutive studio album. The album marks the group's fifth collaboration with longtime producer Matt Wallace, though it also happens to be the third album he did not produce, his involvement being reduced to helping with the final mix.

With his career in the stratosphere due to successes from his solo albums, Rod Stewart became increasingly distanced from his band mates who were, by the time of the album's recording, little more than his backing group in concerts. As a result, according to Ian McLagan, Ooh La La was "Ronnie (Lane)'s album", Stewart distracted enough to have missed the first fortnight's worth of sessions (Five Guys, p. 30). The album's recording would be plagued by Stewart's absence. Nonetheless, producer Glyn Johns held the group together, helping to placate tensions as he had with the Beatles during their Get Back sessions and helping the group to record a strong album in the style of its predecessor as opposed to the group's first two releases, which were self-produced and rather lengthy. Johns's contribution is acknowledged in the album's credits with the comment "Produced by Glyn Johns (see you in a year)," suggesting that the Faces intended to work again with Johns on their next studio album – one that ultimately would never be made.

Fort Romeau is Mike Greene, a London producer whose bright, glimmering form of house music is both forward-thinking and physical in that old-school Chicago way. Greene released his debut album Kingdoms in 2012, and it’s been a steady stream of one-offs and remixes ever since. Soon, he’ll be back with a sophomore album called Insides. Its title track is also its first single, and it’s a glassy, composed six-minute instrumental.
