Released in 2008, Stories from the Safe House is the debut album from former the Hoax and Heez Bus frontman Hugh Coltman. Often compared to fellow troubadour Ray LaMontagne, the British singer/songwriter wrote and produced its 11 tracks, which combine acoustic soul, blues, and folk. Recorded in his adopted city of Paris, the Leonard Cohen/Stevie Wonder-influenced LP includes the singles "Could You Be Trusted" and "Sixteen."

Hot Chocolate formed in Brixton, London, England. Members of the group around Errol Brown included Tony Connor, Larry Ferguson, Harvey Hinsley, Derek Lewis, Pat Olive and Tony Wilson.
In 1969 while demoing a slight reggae version of the John Lennon song "Give Peace A Chance" with a group of friends, Errol Brown changed the lyrics of the number but he was informed that he could not change Lennon's song without his permission! So a copy of the demo was sent to the Beatles record label, 'Apple', with fingers crossed. Amazingly John Lennon loved the version and it was released on the 'Apple' label. Errol and his friends were given the name, 'The Hot Chocolate Band', a name thought up by a secretary at the company but which the band later changed to 'Hot Chocolate'.

Desire Walks On is the eleventh studio album by the American rock band Heart. Released in 1993, it yielded four singles: "Will You Be There (In the Morning)", which reached No. 39 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, "Black on Black II", which hit No. 4 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock chart, "Back to Avalon" and "The Woman in Me", which failed to make the Hot 100 but "bubbled under" at No. 105. The album peaked at number No. 48 in the U.S. and marked a return to being predominantly written by lead members Ann and Nancy Wilson.

Popstars is the debut album by British pop group Hear'Say, formed through the ITV television show Popstars. It was released in the United Kingdom on 26 March 2001. Hear'Say worked with a number of British and Scandinavian producers, including Stargate, and Quiz & Larossi. The album drew comparisons to similarly co-ed pop groups such as S Club 7 and Steps.
The album received generally negative reviews from contemporary music critics, who commented on the artificiality and genericness of both Hear'Say and their music. However, Popstars was a commercial success, charting at number one in the United Kingdom. It was the fastest-selling debut album in UK chart history at the time of release, selling over 300,000 copies in its first week. Popstars yielded two number one singles, "Pure and Simple" and "The Way to Your Love".

We Are in Love is an album by American artist Harry Connick Jr., released in 1990. The multi-platinum album features Connick on piano & vocal, Russell Malone on guitar, Shannon Powell on drums, Benjamin Jonah Wolfe on double bass, and Branford Marsalis on saxophone. Joining the quartet is Connick's Big Band. Most of the tracks include an orchestral background.
Released in 1990, it topped the jazz charts in the same year, and crossed over to the pop charts as well, selling over 2 million copies worldwide. The album gave Connick a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance, Male, and he performed the title track live on the Grammy telecast in 1991. "Recipe for Love" also became one of Connick's biggest hits, peaking at #32 in the UK Singles Chart on re-release (the original release had only peaked at #86).

Haddaway is the debut from pop/eurodance/house artist Haddaway, which includes his hit singles "What Is Love" and "Life". It was released in 1993 on Arista Records. The lead single, "What Is Love", is certified gold by the RIAA for sales of over 500,000 copies. In 2011, the album was released onto iTunes by Razor & Tie.

Я не большой поклонник такого рода войса, хотя и особого отторжения он не вызывает. Для меня альбом больше ценен своей причастностью к американскому треш/спид-металлу тех лет. А материал очень, очень хорош. В сущности, это не архисложный металл, но сыгран очень вкусно и качественно. Особенно на больших скоростях дух захватывает. Да и среднетемповые взрывные вещи цепляют не по-детски. В общем, есть время и хайром потрясти и мозги запудрить немного (слава богу, почти все прог-навороты достались последней вещи “Masque Of The Red Death”).

Итак, перед нами плод больного воображения Эрика Рутана. Как и следовало ожидать, скорость этого дэт-релиза фактически постоянна на протяжении всего альбома и очень высока. Бластинг изредка сменяется дробью. Музыка чрезвычайно наворочена. Казалось бы, что еще нужно? Но есть одно "но" : музыка звучит неестественно. Такое впечатление, что ее наворотили специально, чтобы подчеркнуть виртуозность своей техники игры.

When Greece's death/black metal scene first exploded into action in the early 90's, Horrified were among its earliest and most promising bands. Formed in 1990 by vocalist Gore, guitarist Timos, bassist Kostas and drummer Stelios, the group issued a couple of independently released E.P.'s (‘90's Eternal God and ‘92's The Ancient Whisper of Wisdom) before signing with local Black Power Records.

Вся музыка пронизана идеей - насколько иногда их (идей) бывает мало. Между композициями сделаны вставки, которые должны были по теории придать концептуальности альбому, что и не получилось, потому что если их убрать, то получится всего минут 35 музыки. Создается ощущение, что для альбома остро нехватало материала и нойсом просто заполнили место.

Группа вернулась на студию The Academy Studios, и вскоре появился дебют - "Upon Promeathean Shores (Unscriptured Waters)". Еще до выхода альбома в группе появились новые члены - клавишник Michael и басист Paul. Благодаря этим кадровым перестановкам изменился и стиль музыки - появился уклон в progressive. В октябре 1996 года в группе сменился барабанщик.
