Classical composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi’s latest album carries on in the direction his output has taken, with a collection of bold and imaginative compositions in which Einaudi’s piano, once a solo instrument, is increasingly merely an accompaniment. The Taranta from which the album takes its name is a passionate rhythmical dance originating in the Italian Salento region, which was originally a healing ritual intended to counteract the effects of a tarantula bite. The repetitive, intense dance forms the backdrop to the album, which is then layered with melodies from worldwide musical traditions.

Luciferian Light Orchestra - Side-project of Christofer Johnsson of Therion. From the band's website: "Luciferian Light Orchestra is a new band wrapped in a vintage spirit. The band is performing songs that Christofer Johnsson has written over the years but thought were too retro sounding for Therion. Christofer always had a big passion for the 70’s music. Luciferian Light Orchestra sounds like a 70’s version of Therion, mainly inspired by the 70’s occult vibes and themes."
Apart from Christofer on guitars and Mina Karadzic on vocals, the rest of the line-up is unknown at the moment.

Ghostlight Records presents the innovative new album from Lea DeLaria "House of David": delaria + bowie = jazz, which boldly reexamines the work of music icon David Bowie. DeLaria is the television, stage and music star currently best known as “Carrie ‘Big Boo’ Black” in the hit Netflix series “Orange is the New Black.” The first major jazz reworking on Bowie’s beloved catalog, the album features tracks such as a smooth bossa nova interpretation of “Golden Years,” a trenchant “Life On Mars” and a roof-raising gospel take on “Modern Love.”

One of the most recognized and highly respected guitarists around, Lee Ritenour, has contributed so much in his 40 years of makingLee Ritenour CD the sweet, funky, sophisticated, straight-ahead, and contemporary jazz music. His accomplishments are abundant as one who celebrated five decades as a guitarist back in 2010 and now, with this latest release, commemorates 40 years since his debut recording First Course on Epic Records. He has picked up or been nominated for award after award, been a member of the prestigious jazz group Fourplay, and spearheaded the ongoing Six String Theory Competition which shines the spotlight on aspiring musicians.
