В 1989 году Тони, последовав примеру Рутерфорда, организовавшего успешный проект "Mike & The Mechanics", попытался скрыться за вывеской "Bankstatement" и сделал свои композиции более радиодружественными. Как ни странно, но затея потерпела крах, и Бэнкса попросили с "Atlantic Records".

Выработав собственный стиль еще пару альбомов назад, представители Фарерских островов Tyr нисколько не изменили себе и на новом альбоме – перед нами все такой же тягучий, с небольшим налетом прогрессивности, викинг металл, что и был на двух последних работах коллектива. Чуть грязновый звук (стиль обязывает), тексты преимущественно на народном языке (опять же дань стиля, да, и, собственно, нельзя же лишать себя едва ли не единственной фишки) и простоватые народные мелодии с тяжелыми гитарами.

Мне больше всего нравится этот альбом именно тем, что здесь самое большое количество маленьких шедевров. Такого нет на монументальном "Secrets of the Runes", воспринимаемом как одно целое (за вычетом каверов), нет на последующих дисках тем паче, а из предыдущих дисков в симфо-стиле - только "Theli" напоминает "Deggial".

И пусть риффы просты, вокал можно упрекнуть в самодеятельности, “How Far To Asgaard” и сейчас слушается на ура – как ни крути, а даже в таком виде наследие первых альбомов Black Sabbath будет жить вечно, да и ремастеринг сделал свое дело, придав звучанию сбалансированности и весомости. Два бонуса, включенные в новое издание, порадуют, в первую очередь ценителей традиций – оба трека в своей основе имеют народную фарерскую мелодию, простую, но доходчивую, такую же, как была проста и понятна жизнь на этих островах лет эдак 1000 назад.

When Richard Norris and Soft Cell’s Dave Ball, better known as The Grid, rediscovered a tranche of unused soundscapes from sessions with Robert Fripp during the early 1990s, when the guitarist’s ethereal ’scaping graced The Grid’s 456 and Evolver albums, they were galvanised into action.
The result is a rather beautiful sequence of pieces in which rich synth tones unfurl and stretch in tandem with Fripp’s languid note building. The already widescreen, cinematic creations really go up a gear when heard in a brand new 5.1 surround mix by David Singleton, Fripp’s co-producer and creative partner at DGM. In this medium, the low drones transform in window-rattling subsonics while diaphanous, spacey strings reach out to entangle and embrace.

Альбом как будто специально создан для того, чтоб пить пиво где-то в компании друзей. Отличный развеселый трэш вкупе с немецкими текстами, да еще на бэкграунде создан очень реалистичный эффект пивного бара - пузатые бюргеры звенят кружками, нестройными голосами пытаясь подпеть дядьке Тому - все это очень весело и приятно слушается.

This is my favorite Kazu Matsui recording. I have others but this one with Robben Ford is very good. If you are a fan of Robben Ford, you get to hear a different side of him. Great vocalsl from Robben. I have been looking for this album in CD format for years. A must have for Kazu Matsui Project fans and Robben Ford fans.

The album includes the single "The Best" which has gone on to become one of Turner's best-known songs.
