10 июня 2017 года после 14-летнего перерыва немецкий синти-проект T.O.Y. (ex. Evil's Toy) выпустил новый альбом "Pain Is Love". Сингл "The Darkness & The Light " вышел с успехом накануне. За последние годы состав группы кардинально менялся, неизменным остался лишь вокалист Volker Lutz. Возможно это и стало причиной такого творческого перерыва.

T.O.Y. is a German Futurepop/Synthpop band. The project was formerly known as Evils Toy, which was closer to electro-industrial in sound. This maxi includes 11 excellent tracks as remixes of three of the some of the better selections from the album. Included are "Fairytale" with four different mixes, "Another Lovesong" with five different mixes and "White Lights" with two mixes. With the variety and number of remixes and total tracks presented, there is something here for die-hard fans and club DJ's alike. If you fancy more of the upbeat trancey stuff, Massive in Mensch put their talents and style to work creating the "Trance Mix" of "Another Lovesong". I think the name of the mix describes it well with the hipnotic trance elements portrayed quite obviously. If you enjoy a little more laid-back mood, the "Alien#Six13 Mix" of "White Lights" with the very nice piano loops smooth transitional elements from the original track. Haujobb pulls out the Industrial/Drum 'n Bass sound on the "Dark Room Dub" mix of "White Lights". This just shows how far in the opposite direction two different artists can mix a track, contrasting these two almost opposite remixes is very interesting to say the least.

"White Lights" получает положительные отклики у прессы и пользуется популярностью среди поклонников синти-поп музыки, благодаря чему российский лейбл AMG подписывает контракт на выпуск этого альбома в России. "White Lights" входит в десятку самых продаваемых альбомов лейбла.

Музыканты группы T.O.Y начали свою деятельность под названием EVIL'S TOY в 1992 году, играя EBM (electronic body music). Достигнув большого успеха на этом поприще и выпустив 7 альбомов, в начале нового тысячелетия музыканты решили уйти от агрессивного звучания к синтетической романтике. Сменив название на T.O.Y (Trademark Of Youth) музыканты выпускают в 2001 году на лейбле DRAKKAR E-Wave/BMG альбом "Space Radio" в стиле энергичного танцевального синти-попа. T.O.Y в своем новом качестве сразу завоевывают симпатию публики.

Terence Blanchard is a name you are probably familiar with, even if you’re not a jazz person. Apart of the scene for quite some time, Blanchard replaced his fellow New Orleans mate, Wynton Marsalis, in Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers. Before Blakey, Blanchard made his bones with the great Lionel Hampton. Now, if you are still in the dark and the name just don’t ring a chime, Blanchard is perhaps best known for his collaborations with filmmaker Spike Lee. Multiple GRAMMY-winning trumpeter and composer Terence Blanchard has composed a sublime jazz score for The Comedian, the new movie starring Robert De Niro and Leslie Mann that was directed by Taylor Hackford and opens nationwide today. The album The Comedian (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) features the acclaimed trumpeter fronting a top notch sextet with pianist Kenny Barron, tenor saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, alto saxophonist Khari Allen Lee, bassist David Pulphus, and drummer Cary Allen.

The Korvids are a loose collective of Scottish musicians centred around Simple Minds producer Gordon Goudie and vocalist James Grant, who was formerly frontman of 80s pop-soul outfit Love & Money. They made their debut with the single Beach Coma on Nang Records in 2015, followed by Bad Faith last year, and now they unleash their debut long player.

One might have expected that Silva Screen Records, here operating through the subsidiary label Silva Classics, would be more interested in Jean Michel Jarre's father Maurice Jarre than in the younger musician. After all, Reynold da Silva's record company specializes in making new recordings of music from film scores, and it's Maurice Jarre who's the famous screen composer, while Jean Michel Jarre is the synthesizer player who stages spectacular concerts and sells records in the millions with his new age music.
