Angels of the Apocalypse is the second full-length album by Timo Tolkki's metal opera project Avalon, released on May 16, 2014 in Europe and four days later in North America.
It is the second part of the trilogy created by Tolkki, with the previous album The Land of New Hope being the third part of the story.
As with the previous effort, several heavy metal singers were invited to play the characters of the story of the album, with female vocalist Elize Ryd of Amaranthe reprising her role and Floor Jansen (Nightwish, ReVamp) playing the main character. The rest of the cast includes Fabio Lione (Rhapsody of Fire, Angra), David DeFeis (Virgin Steele), Simone Simons (Epica), Caterina Nix (solo Chilean singer who is having her debut album produced by Timo Tolkki) and Zachary Stevens (ex-Savatage, Circle II Circle).

He doesn’t neglect Zappa on his fourth Cuneiform dispatch One Child Left Behind but instead of offering another full Frank immersion he turns his big band loose like it’s playing one of its regular gigs. The Big Hustle is a parisian band who has funk and electric jazz from the last decade as his main influences (Snarky puppy, Soulive, Lettuce). With a powerful and tight horn section, a rock and funky rhythm section with percussions added to it, the Big Hustle’s music has a very large variety of sound landscapes, from quiet and groovy moods to moments of furious soundblasts. Still, the music never loses the groove and always stays close to the funk. The fist LP entitled Worlwide is available in march 2016. The album features the instrumental music of the band and few songs performed by guests (Nina Attal, Melissa McMillan, Beat Assailant).

Nakatsuka Takeshi will be releasing a new album, "EYE", on March 16. This work is his first original album in three years and 1 month. His last release was the album "Lyrics". "EYE" is set to contain 12 songs. Nakatsuka worked on the lyrics, compositions, arrangements, and more on his own. Guest musicians include Matsuoka "Matzz" Takahiro (Per/tres-men, quasimode), NAOTO (strings), Honda Masato (sax), Sasaki Shiro (trumpet), Eric Miyashiro (trumpet), Luis Valle (trumpet), Nakagawa Eijiro (trombone), and Igarashi Makoto (trombone). The album's mixing and mastering were handled by Sakaeda Masateru and Maeda Yasuji respectively.

2016-06-08 - Swedish adventure metallers, TWILIGHT FORCE, recently signed a record deal with German metal powerhouse Nuclear Blast. Now, after several months of work in the band's studio, the Twilight Forge, the band is set to release their sophomore album and label debut called »Heroes Of Mighty Magic«, on August 26th.
