На этом альбоме эклектичные финны вернулись к жесткому звучанию образца своих работ 92-95 годов. Музыка опять полна острых риффов, стратосферной электроники, меланхоличных мелодий и цитат из Metallica. Напоследок альбом достойно завершает попурри из каверов “No Limit” 2 Unlimited и “Symphony Of Destruction" Megadeth. Не шедевр, но отличная работа!

Несомненно, что если бы не Wishmaster от Nightwish, данный диск мог бы претендовать на звание лучшего релиза года. Потрясающая скорость, исключительная мелодичность, АБСОЛЮТНАЯ хитовость всех песен, и все это при женском вокале. Кроме того диск концептуален - Скаллы вспомнили на нём про некогда великую Римскую империю. Очень достойное продолжение исторических эпосов,

Withered beauty was started in 1993 by Daniel and Magnus. Tobias joined the band about half a year later. The first demo, "Screams from the forest", was released 1994 and the second, "Through silent skies", in 1995. A few labels got in touch, but nothing really happened. Because of military service and people moving, the band was put on hold for a while... Until Nuclearblast one day called us and wanted us to participate on their "Death... is just the beginning 4" compilation with the song "Immortality is mine". The same song was later used in the "10 years Nuclear Blast" box. This collaboration lead to a deal with N.B. In december'97, the album was recorded in The Abyss studio with Peter Tдgtgren. В высшей степени сильнейшая работа! Сумасшедший драйв, сумасшедшая энергетика и сумасшедший мелодизм. Честное слово, даже не с чем сравнить. Пятнадцать лет увлечения тяжелой музыкой накладывают волей-неволей отпечаток на любой материал, который доводится слушать, и очень многое для меня малоинтересно по причине вторичности звучания. В последнее время весьма нечасто бывает, чтобы что-то всерьез цепляло, а уж чтобы оглушало, как обухом по голове, так, чтобы хотелось тащиться в экстазе и выть от восторга - крайне редко! И вот, уже две недели "1184" не вылезает из плеера. Таких красивых и мгновенно запоминающихся мелодий, которыми весь альбом нашпигован от первой до последней ноты, я не слышал в последние год-полтора.

В марте 2003 года выходит отличный четвертый и, к сожалению, последний альбом группы - "Likferd" - дальнейшее поступательное развитие предшествующих альбомов (особенно "1184"). Кажется, что Windir на пике своей музыкальной карьеры. Но 14 января 2004 года случилось страшное. Valfar отправился в свой семейный коттедж в Fagereggi, но так туда и не пришел. Три дня спустя полиция нашла его тело на Sogndal valley. Он попал в снежную бурю, не смог добраться до какого-либо жилья или укрытия и умер от переохлаждения. Missing out on their appearance in Gainesville is quickly becoming my biggest regret. Luckily, it looks like I’ll be able to rectify that in short order as they are embarking on a tour with Brian Fallon in support of this, their latest album, You or Someone You Know.

Streets of New York (2006) is the fifth studio album by New York City based singer/songwriter Willie Nile. This is Nile's tribute to the city that gave him international exposure to the music world through the critical eyes and ears of the New York Times. Places I Have Never Been is the third studio album, and first in ten years, by singer/songwriter Willie Nile.

If I Was a River is the ninth studio album from American singer-songwriter Willie Nile. The all-piano album was released in November 2014 under River House Records. Nile recorded If I Was a River on the same Steinway grand piano that he played the night John Lennon was killed, December 8, 1980. Nile was in Studio "A" at The Record Plant in New York City making Golden Down and John and Yoko were working on Walking on Thin Ice in Studio C that night.

American Ride is the eighth studio album from American musician Willie Nile. It was released in June 2013 under Loud & Proud Records.

In 1988, at the pinnacle of the “Hollywood Hair Metal” craze, WILDSIDE, then called YOUNG GUNNS, was formed by guitarist Benny Rhynedance and singer Drew Hannah. Both were 1986 hair metal transplants from the pre-grunge Seattle music scene, which in 1986, did not exist yet.
By 1988 in Los Angeles, after slugging it out for two years in the LA club scene as glam rockers Rogue and enduring the Hollywood “Pay to Play” club promoter rip-off, Benny and Drew disbanded their original Seattle band. They then formed THE BOYZ, which became YOUNG GUNNS, and recruited second guitarist Brent Woods from the Sunset Strip band ALRISHA, and bassist Marc Simon from local heroes ST. VALENTINE. The lineup was soon completed with the addition of drummer Johnny Dean, but he soon left the band.
The guys searched for a permanent drummer and dominated the Sunset Strip and the Whisky-A-Go-Go on the weekly Monday night “No Bozo Jam” shows. After a year and a half of “false starts and flakes,” they found ex-NRG and KANE ROBERTS drummer Jimmy D. from San Bernardino, CA to finally complete the classic lineup.
This is when the hard work truly began. With a solid lineup, the band began an all-out assault on Hollywood. Sold out shows followed at the Roxy, Whisky, Troubadour, Gazzarri’s, and X-Poseur 54. Front page covers on all of the LA rock press magazines arose, and record labels began to take notice.
Diligently writing and rehearsing in their shared Hollywood gigs, the boys played endlessly throughout 1988-1989. When they weren’t ripping through impassioned sets, they were putting up flyers on every telephone pole in town. Their self-determination turned self-promotion into an art form and soon the band’s name was on everyone’s lips.
However, the band needed to eventually change their name. Originally known as YOUNG GUNNS between ’88 to ‘90, the producers of a western film using a similar title (released incidentally after the band was already well on its way) from Lionsgate Studios and Artisan Entertainment issued a series of cease and desist warnings and wanted $350,000 for the rights to the name.
After another late night Sunset Strip gig, while the guys were afterwards at the Rainbow bar, the name WILDSIDE was thrown around and seemed to fit their lifestyle perfectly, while being inspired by the Lou Reed song of the same name.
With their new name, a new phase of the band history was about to begin. But, that’s another story…
